What are the clinical symptoms of bladder cancer?

Bladder cancer is a common tumor disease in life, and it is also a urinary system disease. The impact and harm it brings to people are also very large and cannot be ignored. Therefore, everyone must pay more attention to their own body, and the clinical symptoms of the disease are the most critical. Let us list some clinical symptoms of bladder cancer in detail:

1. Hematuria

Most bladder tumors present painless gross hematuria or microscopic hematuria as the first symptom. Patients present with intermittent and whole-course hematuria, sometimes accompanied by blood clots. In clinical practice, intermittent painless gross hematuria is considered a typical symptom of bladder tumors. The amount of bleeding and the duration of hematuria are related to the malignancy, size, range and number of the tumor, but they are not necessarily proportional. Sometimes when gross hematuria occurs, the tumor is already very large or in the late stage; sometimes a very small tumor will cause a lot of hematuria. Because hematuria is intermittent, it is easy for patients to ignore it when hematuria stops, mistakenly believing that the disease has disappeared and not conducting further examinations in a timely manner. When patients only present with microscopic hematuria, they are not discovered because there are no other symptoms, and they often do not attract attention until gross hematuria occurs.

2. Bladder irritation symptoms

Early bladder tumors rarely cause urinary tract irritation symptoms. If the bladder tumor is accompanied by infection, or the tumor occurs in the bladder trigone, urinary tract irritation symptoms may appear earlier. In addition, we must be alert to bladder irritation symptoms such as frequent urination and urgency, which may indicate the possibility of bladder carcinoma in situ. All patients with bladder irritation symptoms without evidence of infection should adopt active and comprehensive examination measures to ensure early diagnosis.

3. Difficulty urinating

In a small number of patients, due to large tumors, or tumors occurring in the bladder neck, or blood clot formation, it may cause urine flow obstruction, difficulty urinating, or even urinary retention.

4. Symptoms of upper urinary tract obstruction

When the tumor infiltrates the ureteral orifice, it causes the renal pelvis and ureter to dilate and accumulate water, or even become infected, causing varying degrees of backache, back pain, fever, etc. If both ureteral orifices are invaded, symptoms of acute renal failure may occur.

5. Systemic symptoms

Including nausea, loss of appetite, fever, weight loss, anemia, cachexia, leukemoid reaction, etc.

6. Symptoms of metastatic lesions

Advanced bladder cancer may infiltrate around the pelvic floor or metastasize to distant sites. Common distant metastases include the liver, lungs, bones, etc. When the tumor infiltrates the posterior urethra, prostate, and rectum, corresponding symptoms will appear. When the tumor is located at one ureteral orifice, it causes ureteral orifice infiltration, which can cause ureteral dilatation and hydronephrosis on one side. When the tumor is accompanied by bladder stones, symptoms of bladder stones such as urinary pain and hematuria will appear.

7. Common complications

Common complications of bladder cancer include bladder cancer pain, severe hematuria, and urinary retention.

What are the clinical symptoms of bladder cancer? I believe that everyone has found the answer to this question in the above content, but I wonder if everyone has kept them in mind? I hope everyone can think more about their own health.
