What are the symptoms of teratoma

Teratoma is a common germ cell tumor that originates from the primordial germ cells of the embryonic gland. Common symptoms of teratoma include weight loss, abdominal pain, lumps, nausea and vomiting, and anemia.

1. Weight loss:

When the teratoma is malignant, the patient will become noticeably emaciated due to the severe nutritional consumption of the malignant tumor.

2. Abdominal pain:

Teratoma torsion, internal bleeding, necrosis, rupture, infection can cause abdominal pain, twisting can cause persistent pain in one side of the lower abdomen. When a malignant tumor invades the pelvic wall and affects the nerves, pain can occur and radiate downward.

3. Lumps:

4. Nausea and vomiting:

If the teratoma is relatively large and grows relatively quickly, it may compress local organs and cause symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.

5. Anemia

Malignant teratomas can cause chronic anemia due to long-term nutrient consumption by the tumor, while tumor rupture or ovarian tumor torsion can cause acute anemia.
