Is bloody nasal discharge a nasopharyngeal cancer? How to treat it?

Nowadays, more and more people are suffering from nasopharyngeal cancer, but we know very little about the symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer. Is bloody nasal discharge a nasopharyngeal cancer? How to treat it?

Does bloody nasal discharge mean nasopharyngeal cancer?

Nasal diseases mainly manifest as mucosal irritation symptoms and respiratory and olfactory dysfunction, including external nose, nasal vestibule, and sinus diseases, which can be divided into infection, bleeding, abnormal reaction, tumor, trauma, foreign body, congenital malformation and structural abnormality.

Nosebleeds generally have the following types: rhinitis, acute rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis, sinusitis and other non-specific inflammations of the nasal cavity and sinuses are common causes of nosebleeds. Common colds, due to congestion and swelling of the nasal mucosa, plus secondary infection, nosebleeds due to ruptured capillaries, disappear with the cure of rhinitis and improvement of nasal ventilation function.

It can be seen that bloody nasal discharge does not necessarily mean nasopharyngeal cancer.

How is it treated? Indications for radical radiotherapy can be treated with radiotherapy:

1. The general condition is above average.

2. The pathological type is sensitive to radiation.

3. CT scan shows no obvious or slight damage to the skull base bone.

4. CT or MRI examinations show no or only slight invasion of the nasopharynx.

5. The maximum diameter of the cervical lymph node metastasis is less than 8 cm, and the activity has not yet reached the level of the supraclavicular fossa.

6. No distant metastasis to lung, liver, bone, etc.

Knowing more about the symptoms and characteristics of a disease can help you detect and treat it more quickly when it occurs.
