What to do if the nail cap falls off due to onychomycosis

If onychomycosis continues to occur seriously, it will cause many problems. The most common one is the falling off of the nail. This will not only make the local wound difficult to heal, but also is likely to damage the nail bed. Therefore, patients need to pay attention that if the nail bed is not damaged, it will not affect the regeneration of the nail. It is difficult to grow new nails if the nail bed has been damaged.

After the onychomycosis is removed, if the nail bed is not damaged, a new nail will still grow; if the nail bed is severely damaged, a new nail may not grow.

Onychomycosis is a relatively common infectious skin disease with a relatively high incidence rate among the population, which is mainly related to personal physique, living environment, etc. Since onychomycosis is contagious, it tends to occur in families. Onychomycosis is a disease caused by fungal infection. There are many types of fungi that cause onychomycosis, and it is mainly transmitted through close contact, such as contact with toiletries, slippers, swimming pools, etc. in public places.

In addition, it is related to the living and residential environment. People with humid living or working environment, excessive foot sweating, or combined with some underlying diseases such as obesity, diabetes, varicose veins of the lower limbs, or long-term use of some immunosuppressants, antibiotics, etc. are also at high risk of onychomycosis.

The main symptoms of onychomycosis are nail deformation, discoloration, and nail destruction. Generally, onychomycosis can be effectively recovered through active treatment, improvement of living and eating habits, and regulation of one's own immunity. Even after the nail falls off, new nails can grow.

In severe cases, the entire nail may be damaged, with the entire nail becoming thickened, brittle, uneven, or even disappearing. The prognosis for this condition is relatively poor. If the nail bed is severely damaged, new nails will not grow after the onychomycosis falls off.

We should raise awareness of onychomycosis, improve the working and living environment in a timely manner, eat a scientific and reasonable diet, receive regular treatment, avoid irrational clinical medication, and actively treat diseases of other systems, etc., which can effectively treat onychomycosis.
