Breast cancer lymph node metastasis axillary symptoms

If breast cancer metastasizes to the axillary lymph nodes, the patient will find a mass in the armpit. If the lymph nodes are enlarged, there will be pain symptoms. If there are multiple swollen lymph nodes, they may fuse into a mass and compress the axillary vein or nerve, and the patient will experience local pain. If there is a venous blood return disorder, the upper limbs will also show swelling, numbness, and even limited movement.

Can chest X-ray detect breast cancer?

Breast cancer is one of the common malignant tumors in women, and its main manifestation is a painless breast mass. Ordinary screening mainly uses color Doppler ultrasound and chest X-ray. If there is a breast mass, chest X-ray can show the shadow of the mass, but it cannot confirm the diagnosis. After the breast mass is found, magnetic resonance imaging or puncture biopsy and other examinations are performed.

What to do if your arm edema occurs after breast cancer surgery

The arm edema after breast cancer surgery is caused by the dissection of the axillary lymph nodes during breast cancer surgery. The axillary lymphatic vessels are ligated or damaged, resulting in obstruction of lymphatic return to the affected limb, leading to arm edema. Currently, there is no special drug treatment for lymphedema after breast cancer surgery. It is mainly physical therapy, such as raising the affected limb to avoid the limb from drooping for too long. Local massage of the affected limb can be started from the fingers from the distal end to the proximal end, squeezing and massaging to promote lymphatic return.
