What are the symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma liver metastasis

What are the symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma liver metastasis?

1. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is one of the most common tumors in my country, with Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Fujian and other provinces being the most common. The incidence rate in men is 2-3 times that in women, and the age group with the highest incidence is 40-50 years old. Due to the hidden anatomical location of the nasopharynx, the early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma are atypical, and the diagnosis is easily delayed clinically, so special vigilance should be exercised.

Since most NPCs are poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinomas, radiotherapy is the first choice, usually using 60Co or linear accelerator high-energy radiotherapy. The 5-year survival rate of radiotherapy is about 45%.

2. The most common sites of nasopharyngeal carcinoma metastasis are bones, lungs, and liver. Bone metastasis is common in the pelvis, spine, and limb bones. Clinical observations have found that with the enlargement of cervical lymph nodes, the chance of distant metastasis also increases significantly, with a distant metastasis rate of 4.8% to 27%, and autopsy found that it is as high as 76%. Bone metastasis often manifests as bone pain, lung metastasis manifests as dyspnea, hemoptysis, etc., and nasopharyngeal carcinoma liver metastasis symptoms include liver pain, jaundice, etc. Hemorrhage is often the most common symptom of nasopharyngeal carcinoma recurrence.

3. Lymphatic metastasis is the most common metastasis mode of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. It refers to the phenomenon that the invading tumor cells pass through the wall of the lymphatic vessels, fall off, and are carried to the confluence lymph nodes with the lymph fluid, and the same tumor grows with this as the center.

4. The liver is an organ where various malignant tumors are prone to metastasis and is one of the most common sites for metastatic cancer. This means that primary tumors outside the liver can metastasize to the liver through the blood or lymphatic pathways. Common liver metastases are mostly from the digestive tract, lungs, pancreas, kidneys, breasts and other parts.
