Characteristics of intestinal cancer bleeding

Characteristics of intestinal cancer bleeding

Characteristics of intestinal cancer bleeding:

The characteristic of intestinal cancer bleeding is that the blood adheres to the surface of the stool or is mixed with the stool, and is red or dark red and accompanied by a peculiar smell.

The specific analysis is as follows:

1. Blood adheres to the surface of stool or is mixed with stool: The causes of bleeding in colorectal cancer are more complicated and may be related to factors such as colorectal mucosal damage, rupture of cancer tissue surface, and ischemic oxygen necrosis of cancer tissue. In the early and middle stages, the process of stool excretion may cause friction damage to the cancer surface, blood adheres to the surface of stool, and bleeding stops after defecation. In the late stage, affected by the erosion and necrosis of cancer tissue, mucus mixed with blood, pus and blood in stool may be discharged, and it may also be mixed with necrotic tissue or blood clots.

2. Red or dark red: If the cancer is high rectal cancer or colon cancer, spontaneous bleeding may appear dark red or black asphalt stool may be discharged because the bleeding site is far away from the anus. If it is low or medium rectal cancer, or the disease is in the early stage, red blood may be discharged.

3. Accompanied by a foul odor: During the proliferation of cancer, blood circulation disorders may occur, causing tissue necrosis, erosion, ulcer infection, and bloody stools may be accompanied by an unpleasant fishy odor.

In addition to the above three characteristics, intermittent or persistent bloody stools may also occur, with atypical symptoms, similar to hemorrhoids, intestinal polyps, chronic nonspecific ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, etc. It is recommended to see a doctor for rectal examination and colonoscopy after bloody stools, and perform biopsy if necessary, and choose the appropriate treatment plan after clarifying the specific cause. During the treatment process, pay attention to bed rest, avoid eating spicy and irritating foods, and maintain an optimistic and cheerful attitude.
