What causes glioma

What causes glioma

Glioma is a malignant tumor in the brain. At present, the specific cause of glioma is still inconclusive. Scholars believe that the occurrence and development of glioma are closely related to congenital genetic factors. Congenital factors, including family genetic history and some special family hereditary endocrine diseases, may induce glioma and cause gene mutation or gene mutation at the gene level. Acquired factors are seen in severe craniocerebral injury, leading to extensive glial cell proliferation and long-term radioactive contamination, including long-term exposure to some chemical carcinogens. These reasons may induce the occurrence of glioma, but they are often due to the joint influence and restriction of various factors.

Late symptoms of glioma

Glioma refers to brain glioma, which is one of the most common nervous system tumors in the brain. If it is a first-grade brain glioma, according to the classification of the World Health Organization, it is a benign tumor, if it can be completely removed. Generally, it will not recur. Second, third, and fourth are malignant tumors. If malignant tumors are not treated in time, they may metastasize widely, leading to severe brain edema, which may occur in the late stage of the tumor, and even coma, recurrent headaches, nausea, vomiting, epileptic seizures, and even bowel dysfunction.

TCM treatment of glioma

The treatment of glioma mainly focuses on Western medicine surgery, complete glioma resection, postoperative radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other related treatments. At present, there is a lack of effective treatment methods for glioma in traditional Chinese medicine. Only for some elderly and weak people who cannot tolerate surgery and those with severe glioma in the late stage, it is helpful to improve physical fitness through traditional Chinese medicine regulation. For most gliomas, it is better to choose to go to a well-known local tertiary hospital in time, hospitalize for surgical treatment in the early stage, and arrange radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other related treatments in time according to the postoperative pathological examination results.
