Male teratoma is a rare tumor formed by abnormal development of multiple embryonic tissues. It is usually benign, but a few may become malignant. It is not contagious. Once patients find suspected symptoms, they should seek medical treatment as soon as possible for a clear diagnosis. Teratomas are mainly caused by the failure of some cells to differentiate normally during embryonic development, and may contain hair, teeth, bones or other tissue components. Male teratomas are common in the testicles, but may also occur in the sacrum or abdominal cavity. The symptoms depend on the location and size of the tumor. For example, a tumor in the testicle may appear as a painless mass, but in severe cases it may cause pain or compression symptoms. Some malignant teratomas may also be accompanied by the risk of metastasis, such as spread to the lungs or lymph nodes. Close observation and timely intervention are very important when pain is caused, the size is too large, or other complications occur. Benign teratomas generally do not pose acute dangers, but malignant transformation requires vigilance. Treatment is usually surgical resection, and in testicular cases, orchiectomy may be used. If the tumor becomes malignant, additional chemotherapy is required, such as a combination of cisplatin or etoposide. In some cases, radiotherapy can also be used as an adjuvant. During the recovery period after treatment, regular checkups are very important to monitor the risk of recurrence or potential complications. If the patient has a family history of cancer, special attention should be paid to screening. Men should pay attention to self-examination of the testicles. If they find lumps, abnormal volume or feel uncomfortable, they should seek medical attention immediately. At the same time, maintaining a regular schedule, a balanced diet and active exercise will contribute to overall health and reduce the risk of disease. Early detection and treatment are key, especially for malignant tendencies, and active intervention measures should be taken. |
