Nowadays, many patients are concerned about the care of nasopharyngeal cancer and diet. Below, the editor will introduce to you: Is nebulization good for nasopharyngeal cancer? What should you pay attention to in your diet? Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a malignant tumor that occurs in the epithelial tissue of the nasopharynx. Its incidence rate ranks first among head and neck malignant tumors. It is one of the most common head and neck malignant tumors in southern my country, especially in Guangdong. The main treatment for nasopharyngeal carcinoma is radiotherapy, but patients often experience symptoms such as deafness, ear blockage, and tinnitus after radiotherapy, which are mostly related to damaged middle ear function. The incidence of secretory otitis media after radiotherapy is 26%. How to effectively treat the damaged middle ear during radiotherapy is a major clinical problem. We use nasal irrigation combined with nebulizer inhalation to treat nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients undergoing radiotherapy to observe its efficacy in improving middle ear function. Nasal atomization can keep the nasopharynx, the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube and its surroundings clean, reduce the swelling of the mucosa of the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube and the cartilage of the Eustachian tube, control inflammation in the nasal cavity, sinuses, nasopharynx and Eustachian tube, protect the movement function of the cilia of the mucosal epithelium of the Eustachian tube, and help protect the opening and closing function of the Eustachian tube. It plays an important role in protecting the function of the middle ear. It not only relieves the high negative pressure in the tympanic cavity, thereby reducing the occurrence of secretory otitis media and hearing disability, but also avoids middle ear infection and complications of tympanic tube placement. It also reduces the occurrence of secretory otitis media caused by radiotherapy in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma and improves the quality of life of patients. The diet of nasopharyngeal cancer patients should be highly nutritious, easy to digest and balanced. They should eat more vegetables and fruits, eat less or no salted fish, pickles, smoked meat, cured meat and other foods containing nitrosamines. They should avoid spicy and dry foods and excessive drinking. Especially during the radiotherapy and chemotherapy of nasopharyngeal cancer, patients often experience dry mouth and throat, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this is due to deficiency of qi and yin, and excessive heat and toxicity. Spicy and dry foods should be avoided. The diet should be light, and foods that are easy to digest, nutritious and delicious should be selected. |
