What are the dietary taboos for nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is one of the most common malignant tumors in my country, and patients will feel very uncomfortable. Let me tell you what are the dietary taboos for nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients?

The disease often occurs in the nasopharyngeal crypts and the anterior wall. The lesions can be nodular, ulcerative, or mucosal infiltrates, and are mostly poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinomas. Others may be adenocarcinomas, undifferentiated carcinomas, etc.

If patients with nasopharyngeal cancer do not pay attention to their diet, their condition is likely to worsen. We must learn more about the healthy diet for nasopharyngeal cancer. So what dietary taboos should we pay attention to?

1. Preserved foods such as pickled meat, salted fish, pickles, etc. contain nitrosamines, which may cause digestive tract tumors. Studies have found that the incidence of nasopharyngeal cancer is related to the frequent consumption of preserved foods, such as preserved meat, preserved vegetables, bacon, etc. During the cooking process, nitrites are converted into nitrosamines and dinitrosopiperazines, which can induce cancer. Nasopharyngeal cancer may occur at any age. The youngest patient may be only a teenager, but the high-risk age is mainly concentrated in the forties and fifties. It is recommended to eat less preserved foods.

2. Moldy food Moldy peanuts, melon seeds or corn contain a lot of aflatoxin, which can induce nasopharyngeal cancer. Aflatoxin is a highly toxic substance. The harm of aflatoxin is that it destroys the liver tissue of humans and animals. Aflatoxin is used to naturally contaminate food B1, which is the most toxic and carcinogenic and is the most common.

3. Overnight vegetables contain a large amount of nitrite, which can be decomposed into nitrosamines with the protein in the stomach after consumption, which can easily lead to gastric cancer and nasopharyngeal cancer. A large amount of nitrite can directly poison, and nitrate can also be restored to nitrite in the human body. Nitrite reacts with human blood to form methemoglobin, which makes the blood lose its oxygen carrying function and causes hypoxia poisoning. Severe cases can cause cancer.

The diet of patients with nasopharyngeal cancer should be cautious because the disease can worsen rapidly and improper diet can make the disease worse.
