Dust masks, what are the precautions when using dust masks

At present, air pollution is very serious, and smog weather is common. Therefore, for their own respiratory health and to avoid the occurrence of diseases, many people have to wear dust masks when traveling. However, there is a lot of knowledge about dust masks. When we buy dust masks, there are many types and brands. Which dust masks are better to choose? What are the precautions when using dust masks? Let's take a look at the introduction of dust mask knowledge.

First: The dust blocking efficiency of dust masks is very high. After using a mask, whether its dust blocking efficiency in the atmosphere is high or low is actually measured based on its dust blocking efficiency for fine dust or respirable powder below 5 μm. In general, gauze masks are more particular, and their dust blocking principle is mechanical filtration, that is, when the dust hits the gauze, it passes through layer by layer of barriers and blocks some large particles of dust in the gauze. However, fine dust, especially dust smaller than 5 μm, will pass through the mesh of the gauze and enter the respiratory system. There are some dust masks on the market whose filter materials are made of fibers charged with permanent static electricity. Respirable dust particles smaller than 5 μm will be attracted by static electricity and adsorbed on the filter material when passing through the filter material, thus truly playing a dust-blocking role.

Second: The mask should fit the face well. When the mask does not fit tightly against the face, dust in the air will enter the respiratory tract through the gaps around the mask. Therefore, people should choose a dust mask that suits their face shape and wear it correctly.

Third: It should be comfortable to wear, including small breathing resistance, light weight, hygienic wearing, and easy maintenance, such as wearing an arched dust mask.

There are many types of dust masks. In daily life, dust masks cannot be used casually. Otherwise, it will cause problems in the use of dust masks and even have a negative effect on people's health. Therefore, we need to understand the precautions for using dust masks so that we can use dust masks better.
