Descaling of electric water heater

Descaling of electric water heater

In the past, people only knew how to use fire to boil water. Now people pay more attention to the quality and efficiency of life, so they invented and researched water heaters. A simple, useful and harmless household item, but everything will wear out after a period of use, and if you don’t know how to repair and maintain it, it will no longer work for you. Take electric water heaters for example. Anyone with a little experience knows that scale will form after using them for a long time, which will affect their subsequent use. So how can we solve this problem?

After using the electric water heater for a long time, a lot of scale will slowly accumulate in the water tank. Especially if the water quality where you live is not very good, the scale will accumulate faster. Generally, a water heater should be cleaned promptly and thoroughly after two to three years of use. Now I will introduce to you the method of descaling electric water heater.

Some water heaters have a special drain nut under the water tank. For this type of water heater, you can simply unscrew the drain nut to drain the water and sewage. When the water in the water tank is almost drained, the scale inside the water tank will be brought out. After draining the water, screw on the nut, add some tap water into the water tank, and then unscrew the drain nut and drain the water. Repeat this several times to clean the scale in the water tank.

Some water heaters can drain water and sewage by adjusting the angle of the safety valve, but the drainage is too slow and the effect is not good. For water heaters without special sewage nut, it is best to remove the water pipe with the safety valve on the right side and the safety valve to drain water and sewage. Before cleaning the scale, the user is advised to read the instruction manual of the water heater in detail and clean the scale according to the operating requirements in the instruction manual. The water heater should be cleaned every 2 to 3 years. If it is not cleaned frequently, it will easily cause scale to adhere to the heating tube and cause leakage, and there is even the possibility of explosion. Cleaning the water heater is something we cannot ignore when using it.

In fact, cleaning the scale inside the electric water heater is a very simple thing, but the irresistible truth is that if you do not deal with it in time, it will still be a certain threat. In order to have a safer living environment, you should firmly grasp these methods and avoid letting yourself and your family be threatened by these hidden dangers.
