Why do people get carsick

In daily life, some friends around us suffer from motion sickness. So why do people get motion sickness? And what are the ways to solve the problem of motion sickness? Let’s discuss the above issues with friends today. Normally, what we call carsickness, seasickness, and airsickness are actually the same disease, which is medically called motion sickness or motion sickness. The reasons for these phenomena are the same.

Motion sickness refers to the condition in which the vestibular balance receptors in the inner ear (vestibular apparatus for short) are subjected to excessive motion stimulation when people are riding in public transportation. This causes the vestibular apparatus in the inner ear to generate excessive bioelectric currents, which affect the nerve center and lead to symptoms such as sweating, nausea, dizziness, palpitations, and vomiting. People's inner ear vestibule has a limit to its tolerance to motion stimulation.

This limit is called the stun threshold. If the intensity or duration of stimulation exceeds the dizziness threshold, the human body will experience symptoms of motion sickness. Each person's individual tolerance varies greatly, mainly affected by factors such as genetic genes, mental state, physical condition, and the surrounding environment at the time. Therefore, under the same objective conditions, only a part of people will experience symptoms of motion sickness.

No one is absolutely immune to motion sickness, but there is no need to worry, because motion sickness is not a real disease and there is no such thing as a cure. However, there are some methods that can reduce the occurrence of motion sickness as much as possible. When riding in a car, friends who often suffer from motion sickness should try to sit at the front of the car, so that the vibration will be relatively smaller, which can greatly reduce motion sickness.

Try to look forward when riding in a car. When the air is bad, open the windows for ventilation. These can effectively alleviate motion sickness. You can also prepare some sour foods, such as snacks like preserved plums and fruit leather, which you can eat when you feel nauseous while riding in a car. This can effectively prevent vomiting. In addition, you can also overcome motion sickness through some special training, such as swings and rotating chairs.
