Skin myxoma

Skin myxoma

Cutaneous myxoma is a very common tumor, which can be divided into multiple or single. The main treatment is surgical removal, which can prevent recurrence and reduce metastasis. However, some health care work should be done in life. First of all, do not consume too much sugar and fat, change the habit of smoking, drinking, and eating spicy and greasy food.

Symptoms and signs

Cutaneous myxomas are solitary flesh-colored nodules that occur on the face, trunk, or limbs. Cutaneous myxomas may also be a symptom of Carney syndrome.

Carney syndrome is composed of two or more of the following symptoms: ① cardiac myxoma (79%); ② cutaneous myxoma (45%); ③ breast myxofibroma (30%); ④ macular skin and mucosal pigmentation, including lentigo and blue nevus (65%); ⑤ primary pigmented adrenocortical disease (45%); ⑥ testicular tumor (56% of male patients); ⑦ pituitary growth hormone-secreting tumor (10%). Cutaneous myxomas are multiple skin-colored papules less than 1 cm in size. It often occurs on the ears, eyelids and nipples. Freckles are most obvious on the face, lips and genital mucosa. Myxomas are rare malignant tumors called myxosarcoma, which arise in the subcutaneous fat and the soft tissue beneath it.

Medication

Surgical removal. For Carney syndrome, a clear diagnosis should be made promptly, and removal of the cardiac myxoma can save lives. Myxosarcoma should be excised widely and deeply, but recurrence is common and metastasis is rare.

Diet and health care

1) Avoid consuming too much sugar and fat.

2) Avoid hot peppers, onions, garlic, ginger, strong tea, coffee, tobacco and alcohol, etc.

3) Avoid eating mud snails, amaranth, rapeseed, etc.

4) Avoid eating foods rich in iodine such as kelp and seaweed.

5) Avoid pickled foods and switch to a low-salt diet.
