If you always have diarrhea, beware of five types of cancer

Most patients with diarrhea as the main symptom suffer from general intestinal inflammation, indigestion, bacillary dysentery, etc. In addition, clinical findings have shown that long-term diarrhea may hide the risk of tumors, which should be a cause for concern.

1. Colorectal cancer

The characteristic is that constipation and diarrhea often occur alternately. An important warning sign of colorectal cancer is a change in bowel habits. People who used to have normal bowel movements suddenly have more frequent bowel movements, often feel a distended anus, and have dull pain in the abdomen. These are usually special signs of colorectal cancer.

2. Gastric cancer

Characterized by diarrhea accompanied by nausea. Clinically, diarrhea is also a common symptom in patients with gastric cancer. Diarrhea caused by gastric cancer is different from normal diarrhea. It is often accompanied by upper abdominal distension and pain, and constipation will not occur. At the same time, gastric cancer patients may also experience mild nausea, heartburn, and loss of appetite.

3. Liver cancer

50% of primary liver cancer patients have diarrhea 3 months before diagnosis. This is because liver cancer is often accompanied by cirrhosis, which can cause portal hypertension or embolism, leading to intestinal wall edema, accelerated peristalsis, digestion, absorption and secretion disorders, and even diarrhea.

4. Lung cancer

Typical lung cancer symptoms include chronic cough, blood in sputum or chest pain, but in a few cases diarrhea is the prominent symptom. The reason why lung cancer causes diarrhea is that some lung cancer cells can produce various regulatory peptides. These hormones directly enter the blood circulation and cause carcinoid syndrome, of which diarrhea is a prominent symptom.

5. Pancreatic cancer

Pancreatic islet cancer is a retroperitoneal tumor that is adjacent to the common bile duct and liver hilum and is surrounded by the duodenum, stomach, and colon. When the cancer compresses or erodes the celiac plexus, in addition to abdominal pain, the patient will also have digestive tract symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, and gastrointestinal gas, and the stool will be oily during diarrhea.
