For a family of three, the amount of food they buy each time should be no more than 5 kilograms. That is to say, we only buy rice and white flour once a month or so, because, in addition to the reasons mentioned above, we also eat other staple foods, including whole grains.

There are many kinds of food houses, for example, a large sealed box made of non-toxic material, and the box must be opaque. Such a grain house not only blocks the sunlight and air for the grain to prevent the grain from being oxidized by the air, but also has good moisture-proof properties, which can ensure that the food is not damp and moldy for a long time. Especially rice, if exposed to the outside, the moisture in the rice grains will easily evaporate. This kind of rice does not taste chewy and loses its aroma. Small grains, especially beans, contain dormant insect eggs. If you don't pay attention to ventilation and provide the insect eggs with a comfortable environment, they will wake up once the temperature is right and eat a lot.

Another convenient way is to buy a small vacuum packaging machine. You can extract the air from the plastic bag to isolate the food inside from the world, then use a brown paper bag to block the light and put it in the freezer, and they will be safe. This storage method is also suitable for small items such as tea, snacks and Chinese medicine at home.

What kind of house should I live in for cooking oil?

The oil used in many homes is also unsafe.

Although the oil in large barrels is cheap, you cannot eat it all at once after opening it. After the oil in the barrel comes into close contact with the air, it will easily oxidize and become rancid, producing harmful aldehydes, ketones and organic acids, and will also affect the fat-soluble vitamins in it. So in the attempt to save money, you end up losing your health.

So, how do you prepare your house for oil?

Again, don't buy too much, 2 to 5 kilograms is enough at a time. When purchasing, you can consider tea oil and high-end olive oil, etc. If you don't eat much, you should eat good food.

For the oil used on the stove every day, do not use a transparent bottle or a plastic oil bottle. You can use a brown glass bottle, and the bottle must have a tight lid to ensure that it is sealed immediately after pouring the oil. If you are storing oil, make sure it is placed in a ventilated and cool place. It is best to put a "breathing" cardboard box on top to block the damage from light.

What kind of house to live in?

Salt shakers, sugar shakers, and spice shakers, preferably those with sealed plastic rings. It is wise to use small-sized spice jars, because spices such as pepper, aniseed, and Sichuan pepper are also afraid of moisture and are prone to mold growth. If there are too many of them, it is not easy to preserve energy.

For pepper powder, I suggest crushing it in a garlic mortar each time; then, use a small mesh sieve to remove the hard inner shell of the pepper. The pepper powder made in this way is particularly flavorful and cannot be compared with the pepper powder bought from the supermarket. Each time, you can make a little and use it a few times. In this way, the aroma of the pepper powder can be kept strong enough and it can also avoid mold.

What kind of house should we live in for tea and wine?

Of all foods, tea is the most demanding in terms of housing conditions. Because they must be protected from moisture, sunlight and odor. Among them, the storage conditions of green tea and oolong tea are very demanding. If stored improperly, light and air will cause the green tea before Qingming Festival to turn from emerald green to yellow-green and finally to brown, and the vitamin C and tea polyphenols in it will also be slowly lost.

Therefore, tea leaves should be placed in a sealed and dry place, and the temperature should not be high. As mentioned before, after vacuuming, keep it away from light and put it in the freezer, and it can be kept for 2 to 3 years.

The common storage methods, such as tin cans or tea cans, can only preserve the tea for about a year, and there is no guarantee that the energy in the tea will not drop significantly.

At home, it is best to have a refrigerator specifically for storing red wine, tea and cosmetics. The temperature of red wine is generally between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius, and the house they need is a cool wine cellar. But it is difficult for ordinary families to do this. However, spending one or two thousand yuan to buy a small refrigerator for them to live in is worth it.

The refrigerator is definitely not the safest house for food

However, don’t think of the refrigerator as the safest place for food.

Someone has done statistics and found that people who often eat food stored in the refrigerator have a shorter life span than those who eat less food from the refrigerator and often eat fresh food. Because in the refrigerator, whether it is preservation or freezing, it only inhibits the reproduction of some cold-intolerant bacteria. There are other psychrophilic bacteria that are not afraid of the cold and can continue to grow and reproduce in an environment of 0℃ ~ 20℃.

Generally speaking, the refrigeration time for raw meat is 1 to 2 days, and for fruits and vegetables it is 3 to 5 days. Meat can only be frozen for two months. Once it changes color, it cannot be eaten.

Liquid foods like drinks or sauces, once opened, that is, once their house comes into contact with the air, will not last long. Even if you put them in the refrigerator, there is a risk of microbial growth, so it is best to get rid of them as soon as possible to avoid future problems.
