Methods for repairing suture scars

There are many ways to repair suture scars, but we have to choose the repair method according to the severity of the patient's scar. If your scar is not yet stable, we recommend that you do not repair it to avoid skin rupture. There are generally two methods to repair suture scars: peeling and applying cooling agent to the affected area for peeling. I hope you who love beauty can understand them well.

How to repair stitch scars

Usually suture scars are prominent hypertrophic scars, dark red in color, hard in texture, irregular in shape, and sometimes accompanied by burning pain and itching. The symptoms will be aggravated, especially when the ambient temperature increases, when the emotions are excited, or after eating spicy and irritating foods.

Due to individual differences, it usually takes 3-6 months for surgical suture scars to stabilize, or even several years. Surgical treatment can be performed after the scar tissue gradually stabilizes. Although the causes of surgical scars are the same, the extent of surgical scars for each person is different due to factors such as different surgical sites, surgical trauma, each person's physical constitution, and repair ability.

A cooling agent is applied to the affected area to numb the skin and firm its surface, which is then polished with a rotating stainless steel wheel studded with tiny industrial diamonds. The raised edges of the scar can be smoothed, and the base can also be smoothed, so that the center is enlarged and the skin surface is flattened. The rubbing method can turn a deep box into a flat valley.

Learn how to do a mild or superficial peel—just gently remove the top layer of skin cells—using trichloroacetic acid or an alpha-hydroxy acid treatment. For very severe acne, doctors use phenol peels, which are usually performed by a plastic surgeon under general anesthesia. For common scars, you can ask your doctor to perform a trichloroacetic acid peel. These peels are very effective in healing pit-like scars.

Laser dermabrasion This treatment uses a carbon dioxide laser to polish the skin. Unlike dermabrasion, laser dermabrasion is a relatively bloodless method of skin resurfacing. But like dermabrasion, laser treatment has its drawbacks—if used improperly, it can create new scars or uneven pigmentation.

Suture scars are mainly caused by traffic accidents or collisions in patients' lives, which lead to large areas of skin rupture. Although sutures can control blood circulation and damage, they may affect the beauty of your skin. Therefore, you can use the suture scar repair method introduced in the article.
