I believe that many people, or almost everyone, have suffered from stiff neck. It is mostly caused by incorrect sleeping posture at night. Some people often suffer from habitual stiff neck. I used to be like this too. I would have stiff neck every other day. After massaging the stiff neck acupoints myself, this situation almost never occurs again. I would like to share the method with you. Massage for stiff neck When it comes to the treatment of stiff neck, each book has different opinions, but in summary, it is to massage Tianyou, Fengchi, Yamen, Tianzhu, Jianzhongshu, Jianbing, Bingfeng, or mastoid, back of hair, Shousanli, etc. According to my practice, Zhongxia is the best acupuncture point. Use acupressure to cure diseases. If combined with the above-mentioned acupoints, the therapeutic effect will be more ideal. If you encounter someone with a stiff neck, use this method several times and the effect is also good. There are many treatments for stiff neck, including muscle manipulation, acupuncture, medication, hot compress, etc., all of which have good effects, especially muscle manipulation. Hot compress for stiff neck Family members can help the person with stiff neck to massage and apply hot compress to relieve pain: (1) Massage: Stand behind the patient with stiff neck and press lightly on the neck with one finger to find the most painful spot. Then use your thumb to start from the top of the neck on that side and massage all the way to the shoulder and back. Massage the most painful spot vigorously until you feel obvious soreness and swelling, which indicates that the force is enough. Repeat this massage 2 to 3 times. Then tap the massaged area with a hollow fist and repeat 2 to 3 times. Repeating the above massage and tapping can quickly relax the spasmodic neck muscles and relieve pain. (2) Hot compress: Hot water bottles, electric hand warmers, hot towels and infrared bulbs can all relieve pain. Care must be taken to avoid burns. (3) Choose safflower oil, Gancunshan rheumatism oil, Yun essence, etc., rub the painful area 2 to 3 times a day, which will have a certain effect. (4) Apply the Shangshi Pain-Relieving Plaster or Pengxiang Pain-Relieving Plaster to the painful area of the neck and change it once a day. The pain-relieving effect is ideal, but the patient will feel that the movement of the neck is restricted to a certain extent after applying the plaster. Pregnant women should avoid using it. (5) Ear acupuncture: Place the ear acupuncture points on the neck and occipital area. Press the above ear acupuncture points with the tip of the index finger for 5 to 10 minutes, or massage the above ear acupuncture points with the tip of the index finger. (6) Acupuncture: For those who cannot bend forward or backward, use the Dashu, Jinggu, and Kunlun points. For those who cannot look left or right, use the Jianwaiyu, Houxi, and Fengchi points. Generally, you can choose the Xuan Zhong point, which is located three inches above the Zuwaidong point. Needle it for 4 to 5 minutes and apply moxibustion for 3 to 7 times. You can also massage this point for 15 minutes each time. (7) Take one painkiller orally for temporary pain relief. (8) Change your sleeping position, adjust the height of your pillow, and twist your neck yourself. (9) If it is caused by cervical spondylosis, perform self-cervical traction therapy at home under the guidance of a physical therapist. (10) For patients with severe stiff neck, local injection of 10 ml of 0.25% novocaine can produce significant analgesic effects. The above description of the acupoint massage method for stiff neck is quite detailed. When you have stiff neck, you can achieve a certain repair effect by massaging the acupoints for stiff neck. The above method is relatively safe and effective. I believe it will be of help to you. If you have a better way, please share it with us. I wish you good health. |
