Colon lipoma is a relatively common type of lipoma. Many patients do not know that they have this disease at the beginning, so it becomes very serious in the later stages. In daily life, how do we know that we have colon lipoma? How can we prevent it? Let’s talk about it today. Symptoms of colon lipoma Colonic lipoma is a common non-epithelial benign tumor in the large intestine. Because it is difficult to identify with the naked eye, it is helpful to understand its symptoms in order to do the corresponding examinations. The clinical symptoms of colon lipoma are as follows: 1. It is more common in the proximal colon, especially in the cecum. 2. It is more common in people aged 50 to 69, and more common in women than in men. 3. Most cases are asymptomatic. Larger lipomas may cause abdominal pain, blood in the stool, changes in bowel habits, intussusception, and in rare cases, a palpable mass. Prevention of lipoma 1. Eat regularly and have a good breakfast: Eating regularly and having a good breakfast are extremely important for patients with lipoma. If you skip breakfast, it may stimulate the lipoma or cause the original tumor to enlarge and increase in number, so it is best to eat foods containing vegetable oil for breakfast. 2. Low-cholesterol diet: Excessive cholesterol intake can increase the metabolism and cleansing burden of internal organs, and cause excess cholesterol to accumulate and precipitate under the skin or in the internal organs, thereby forming lipomas. Therefore, patients with lipomas should reduce their cholesterol intake, especially at night, and avoid eating high-cholesterol foods such as meat products, with a daily limit of less than 75g. Lean pork and skinless chicken and duck meat are preferred, but fat, chicken and duck skin, and processed meat products (such as sausages) should be avoided. In addition, fish roe, squid, and animal offal, such as liver, brain, kidney, lung, tripe (stomach), and intestines should be strictly restricted. The cause of colon lipoma is still unclear, but it may be related to insufficient exercise, high-fat diet, and excessive intake of high-cholesterol foods. Therefore, endoscopy and X-ray examination are the main examination methods. Endoscopically, lipomas are yellow, soft, round masses. Large submucosal lipomas may protrude into the intestinal cavity, and a few may have pedicles. Biopsy showed yellow discharge. Mature adipocytes and fibroblasts can be seen in pathological sections. X-rays show pedunculated or broad-based masses in the smooth intestinal cavity, with filling defects and variable shapes, which change shape with external pressure or emptying during barium enema. The above are the symptoms and prevention methods of colon lipoma. Some people may not currently suffer from this disease, but it is still recommended to pay more attention to diet and focus on prevention, because its early symptoms are not very obvious and the condition can easily worsen rapidly. Here, I wish all patients to pay more attention and actively cooperate with the doctor's examination. |
