Will low blood pressure cause headaches?

Hypertension and hypotension are both relatively common diseases. Hypertension must be treated with caution. In fact, the same is true for hypotension. Don’t think that only high blood pressure can cause headaches. Hypotension can also cause headaches in patients. In addition, low blood pressure often causes blood circulation in the body to slow down, leading to symptoms such as fatigue. It is also quite harmful, and there are many causes for it.

Does low blood pressure cause headaches?

Low blood pressure can cause headaches. In traditional Chinese medicine, this is caused by insufficient qi and blood, which cannot nourish the head. During treatment, you can take some medicines to replenish qi and blood.

Symptoms before hypotension occurs

1. Fatigue and weakness

Patients with low blood pressure often feel listless and weak limbs, especially in the morning. The condition may improve after a nap or rest, but they will feel tired and weak again in the afternoon or evening.

2. Headache and dizziness

Headaches are more common in patients with hypotension and are often more pronounced after strenuous mental or physical activity. The nature and severity of headaches vary, often manifesting as dull pain in the temporoparietal or suboccipital areas, or may be severe throbbing pain or numb pain. Dizziness can be mild or severe. In mild cases, the patient may experience black spots in the eyes and dizziness; in severe cases, the patient may lose consciousness or even faint.

3. Phenomenon of endocrine dysfunction

The main manifestations are deficiency of substances such as adrenaline and norepinephrine, which are reduced and declined in some patients with hypotension.

4. Neurological dysfunction

It can manifest as mental depression, memory loss, sleep disorders, etc. Autonomic dysfunction can manifest as excessive sweating, pale skin or mild cyanosis, hot and cold sensations, a crawling sensation, numbness in the hands and feet, etc.

Ways to prevent low blood pressure

1. In daily life, friends who want to improve low blood pressure should drink more water. Adequate water in the body can increase blood volume and promote blood circulation. You can also eat more salt moderately.

2. Friends with low blood pressure are mostly thin, so they need more nutrition and tonic, which can nourish blood pressure. It is recommended to eat more ginseng, astragalus, etc. Among them, drinking some low-concentration alcohol can also increase blood pressure.

3. In daily life, if you want to prevent hypotension, you need to strengthen physical exercise, enhance physical fitness, and improve functional regulation, which are all helpful in preventing hypotension.

4. To prevent symptoms such as fainting caused by low blood pressure, it is recommended not to move too vigorously and to move as slowly as possible to avoid sudden fainting symptoms.
