Treatment for extremely low white blood cell count

The white blood cell count is an indicator of our body's growth. We should try our best to get the white blood cell count to an extremely low level. Maybe we are not very familiar with the problem of extremely low white blood cell count, and we pay less attention to this aspect. However, extremely low white blood cell count is closely related to our daily life. However, many people now have extremely low white blood cell count. If the white blood cell count is extremely low, it will threaten our health, so we must find a way to balance it. Then how to treat extremely low white blood cell count? Let us follow the article to learn about it.

Treatment:

1. Drug treatment:

The main approach is supportive symptomatic treatment and active infection control. Identify the pathogen as early as possible and choose sensitive antibiotics. Mainly use bactericidal drugs, and in large doses. After the condition is under control, continue taking the medication for 2 to 3 weeks to consolidate the therapeutic effect. Prevent recurrence. For severe infections, white blood cell transfusions or bone marrow transplantation may be tried.

2. Other treatments:

G-6-PD deficiency is a hereditary defect caused by a gene defect, and there is currently no cure. Patients with G-6-PD deficiency or heterozygous pregnant or lactating women should avoid taking drugs and soy products that can induce hemolytic episodes. Drug-induced or infectious hemolysis, especially in patients with mild G-6-PDA-deficiency, generally does not require blood transfusion. If hemolysis occurs acutely and the condition is severe, such as severe favism, concentrated red blood cells should be transfused. Patients who have episodes of hemoglobinuria should maintain adequate urine output to avoid kidney damage. Because infants with G-6-PD deficiency and bilirubin encephalopathy should be given blood replacement, care should be taken in areas with a high incidence of G-6-PD deficiency to avoid transfusing blood from patients with G-6-PD deficiency to these newborns. CNSHA patients due to G-6-PD deficiency generally do not require treatment, but blood transfusion is one of the life-saving measures in the event of aplastic crisis. Although splenectomy can occasionally slightly increase hemoglobin concentration, it is usually ineffective.

3. Hemolytic episodes in patients with G-6-PDA deficiency are generally self-limited. CNSHA patients may develop cholelithiasis, and the condition worsens during the hemolytic phase after infection or medication, but the hemoglobin level remains relatively stable. Almost all patients with drug- or infection-induced hemolysis can recover safely. Favism and neonatal jaundice with bilirubin encephalopathy are relatively dangerous, but the mortality rate is also extremely low with timely treatment.

The above content introduces us to the relevant situation of extremely low white blood cell count. I believe that the above content satisfies the curiosity of many people.
