Can wheezing asthma be cured?

Nowadays, many children suffer from wheezing asthma, which makes parents very worried. Seeing their children coughing and having difficulty breathing, parents feel very uncomfortable. It can really be said that the disease is in the children and the pain is in the parents' hearts. We all know that the treatment of asthma is very difficult, so can wheezing asthma be cured? Let’s take a closer look at it.

1. The onset may be acute or slow. Infants and young children often have an upper respiratory tract infection for 1 to 2 days before the onset of the disease, which is similar to general bronchitis. In older children, the onset is more acute, and often occurs at night. During an attack, the child becomes restless and has breathing difficulties, especially difficulty exhaling. He is often unable to lie flat, and when sitting, he shrugs his shoulders and bends his back, having difficulty breathing while sitting upright.

2. Clinical manifestations also vary depending on the allergens that cause asthma attacks. If it is caused by upper respiratory tract infection, dry and moist rales can often be heard in the chest, accompanied by fever and increased white blood cell count. If the symptoms are caused by inhaled allergens, they are often accompanied by nasal itching, clear runny nose, sneezing, dry cough, and then wheezing and difficulty breathing. People who are highly sensitive to food generally do not have a fever. In addition to asthma symptoms, they often have symptoms such as lip and facial swelling, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and urticaria, which usually appear a few minutes after eating. If the food sensitivity is mild, symptoms will occur slowly, often only mild asthma or breathing difficulties.

3. Symptoms during the interictal period: Although there is no difficulty breathing and the symptoms are like those of a normal child, the child may still feel chest discomfort. Because the pathological factors that cause bronchial susceptibility still exist, an asthma attack can be immediately triggered when infected or exposed to external allergens, but in most children, the symptoms disappear completely and no wheezing can be heard in the lungs.

4. Asthma itself is a chronic disease.

Often chronic and recurrent. Some children have attacks all year round, or although they can be controlled with medication, the remission period is very short. Most of these are the result of poor control of acute attacks or repeated infections.

Can wheezing asthma be cured? This issue that parents are concerned about has been explained in detail above. If a child unfortunately suffers from wheezing asthma, parents must be patient, because this is a chronic disease and it takes a long time to treat. Special attention should be paid to keeping the child warm to prevent the child from catching a cold, and more attention should be paid to strengthening nutrition in the diet.
