What should I do if I have been catching a cold recently?

Summer is here and the weather is getting hotter and hotter. People start to cool off in one way or another, using fans, air conditioners, etc., and they even wish they could put themselves in the refrigerator. However, it is precisely because of these refrigeration appliances that more and more people catch colds in the summer. People with good physical constitutions can recover from a cold in a day or two, while those with poor physical constitutions may take ten days or half a month to recover. Why is this? What should I do if I keep having a cold?

1. Drink chicken soup

Two clinical medical centers in the United States reported that drinking chicken soup can suppress inflammation of the throat and respiratory tract, and is extremely effective in eliminating symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, cough, and sore throat caused by colds. Because chicken contains many amino acids necessary for the human body and is rich in nutrients, it can significantly enhance the body's resistance to cold viruses. Chicken also contains some special chemicals that have the effect of enhancing pharyngeal blood circulation and nasal fluid secretion, which is good for protecting the patency of the respiratory tract, clearing respiratory viruses, and accelerating recovery from colds.

2. Eat more radishes

Practice has shown that the carotene in radish has a unique effect in preventing and treating colds. The specific method is to chop the sweet, crisp and juicy radish into pieces, squeeze out half a cup of juice, then mash the ginger, squeeze out a small amount of ginger juice, add it to the radish juice, then add sugar or honey, mix well and pour in boiling water to drink as a beverage, three times a day for two consecutive days, which can clear away heat, detoxify, dispel cold, and prevent colds.

3. Drink with sugar ginger tea

Because colds are mostly caused by external wind and cold, they often cause symptoms such as headache, nasal congestion, runny nose, joint pain, and even fear of cold and fever. You can use appropriate amounts of brown sugar, ginger, and black tea, boil them into soup and drink it 1-2 times a day. It not only warms the body and removes cold, but also has good prevention and treatment functions for colds.

4. Eat less salt

Experiments have shown that eating less sodium-containing salt can increase the lysozyme content in saliva, protect the epithelial cells of the oral and throat mucosa, and allow them to secrete more immunoglobulin A and interferon to fight the cold virus. Therefore, controlling daily salt intake to less than 5 grams is very beneficial for preventing and treating colds.

5. Take honey

Honey contains a variety of biologically active substances that can stimulate the body's immune function. Taking it twice a day, morning and evening, can effectively treat and prevent colds and other viral diseases.

6. Take yeast

Professor Dasgupta of the University of California, USA, discovered in an experiment that the yeast used to make bread contains an ingredient that can prevent the cold virus from multiplying and spreading in human cells. It can treat the common cold but is ineffective against influenza.

Colds are one of the most common and frequently occurring diseases in our daily lives, and so far there is no medicine that can completely cure them. So we need to start small and recover slowly, bit by bit. Follow the above methods to regulate your body, do not take any random remedies, drink water frequently, and use air conditioning or electric fans less often. I believe that it won’t be long before the cold can be cured without treatment.
