Can massaging the acupuncture points on the nose prevent disease?

We know that there are many acupoints on the body. If you feel unwell, you can consult a Chinese medicine doctor. Tuina and massage are good ways to cure some diseases, but they need to be treated according to the condition of the disease. Similarly, some organs also have acupoints, and if problems arise, they can also be treated through acupoint massage. For example, can massaging the acupoints on the nose prevent disease? Let’s take a closer look at it below. Because the nose is an important respiratory organ, once a disease occurs in it, it can be very serious.

Everyone knows that the nose is an important organ of the human body and the gateway to the human respiratory tract. Nose hair is an air filter that can effectively prevent dust from entering the human lungs. Proper massage and care of the nose can help prevent colds and various respiratory diseases.

1. Massage the nasal septum cartilage: Use your thumb and index finger to pinch the nasal septum cartilage, which is the bone in the middle of the nasal cavity, and gently massage it. This will help increase the disease resistance of the nasal mucosa and prevent colds and rhinitis.

2. Massage the root of the nose: Use your thumb and index finger to massage both sides of the root of the nose clockwise and counterclockwise. This will help promote blood circulation in the nasal mucosa and facilitate the normal secretion of nasal mucus.

3. Massage the "Yingxiang" point: helps promote blood circulation and prevent nasal diseases and facial nerve paralysis.

4. Massage the "Yintang" point: located on the face, at the midpoint of the line connecting the two eyebrows. It helps to clear the head and eyes, open the nose and orifices and prevent respiratory diseases.

Bitong Point, also known as Shangyingxiang, is located on both sides of the nostrils, above the nasolabial groove. As shown in the picture: Bitong Point (Shangyingxiang Point) is mainly used to treat the following diseases: rhinitis, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, and headache.

The patient sits with his back tilted, and the Shangyingxiang point (Bitong point) is located on the face, at the junction of the alar cartilage and the turbinate, near the upper end of the nasolabial groove.

[Physiology and anatomy] Below the acupoint are skin, subcutaneous tissue, and levator labii superioris alar muscle. The infraorbital nerve, branches of the infratrochlear nerve, buccal branch of the facial nerve and the medial canthal artery and vein are distributed here.

Simple rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, hypertrophic rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis, paranasal sinusitis, epistaxis, nasal polyps, olfactory dysfunction; chronic conjunctivitis, sore eyes, sudden onset of red eyes, tearing in the wind, dacryocystitis; cold, headache, nasal congestion; facial paralysis, furuncles on the head and face.

To sum up, it is about massaging the acupoints on the nose to prevent diseases. We know that many acupoints are components of the nose, so if there is a disease in the nose, it can be treated according to the specific situation, but in serious cases, you must consult a Chinese medicine doctor and do not massage it casually. This is to avoid pressing the wrong acupoints, which will not produce good results and delay the treatment of the disease.
