What to do if my ears hurt

What to do if your ears hurt? In daily life, many people have experienced sudden ear pain, which can cause a person to fall into a deep valley in an instant. Most importantly, these people have no idea what ear pain is, let alone how to treat it. Here are some of the causes and treatments for ear pain.

Ear pain is a common disease. The most common clinical condition is otitis media, an inflammatory lesion involving all or part of the structure of the middle ear, most of which are nonspecific inflammations. Its symptoms include ear pain, fever, chills, bitter taste in the mouth, red or yellow urine, constipation, and hearing loss. If the eardrum is perforated, pus will flow out of the ear and the pain will be relieved.

To treat otitis media, it can be cured by conservative and standardized treatment. Drink plenty of water, eat a light diet, avoid spicy and irritating foods, and also pay attention to the following daily precautions.

1. Try not to pick your ears. Do not use dirty, sharp objects to dig your ears to avoid infection and inflammation. The distance from the opening of the external auditory canal to the eardrum of an adult is only 3.5 cm. When using a cotton swab to clean earwax, the part that extends into the external auditory canal should be between 2.5 and 3 cm to avoid puncturing the eardrum. In addition, do not go to massage parlors or beauty salons for ear cleaning. First, there is no guarantee that the instruments are sterilized, and second, non-professionals may injure the eardrum.

2. Prevent colds. Summer is the peak season for colds. Otitis is often caused by colds, and Eustachian tube obstruction can cause infiltrative otitis media.

3. Try not to let water enter the external auditory canal. When swimming or washing your hair or taking a bath, if water enters your ears, wipe it off immediately with a cotton swab to keep the external auditory canal clean and dry.

4. In addition, maintaining the same posture for a long time while working, studying or playing games can easily cause compression of the delicate blood vessels and nerves in the ears. This is the reason why many patients have tinnitus but cannot find the cause. If you sit for more than an hour, you should do some physical exercise and relax your neck appropriately.

Generally speaking, ear pain is a sign that you have otitis media. However, treating otitis media is a very simple matter. Conservative treatment can restore it to its original state through diet and taking some medicines. In addition, there are many precautions that everyone needs to know, otherwise otitis media will not get better quickly.
