Why do my arms hurt when I do push-ups?

Push-ups are an exercise that trains the abdominal muscles and back muscles. It is also a very popular exercise. If male friends want to train their abdominal muscles, push-ups are the best and simplest way to do it. Doing push-ups is a good test of a person's athletic ability because it involves using many muscles. However, many people report that they feel extreme soreness in their arms after doing push-ups. What’s going on? Are you injured?

Because exercise causes lactic acid to be produced in the muscles, there will be a feeling of soreness. The biceps are the muscles that push-ups exercise. Why do I feel sore on the outside instead of the inside of my arms after doing push-ups? Does this have anything to do with a strain? Because when the upper body is supported, the elbow joint of the upper limb needs to be straightened and the triceps brachii needs to be contracted to complete this action, and the pain on the outside is caused by the forceful contraction of the triceps brachii.

Even if your muscles are sore, you still have to do push-ups and persist. It is normal to have a little soreness. Most of the methods to relieve muscle soreness are to stretch and lengthen the muscles. This may be because when the muscles are stretched, the Golgi tendon organs of the muscles are stimulated, causing them to have inhibitory impulses.

At the beginning, I would feel sore after doing 20 push-ups, but now I can do 300 at a time without any pain. When you are stronger and have stronger arms, you can put a bench under your feet or do push-ups upside down.

If you feel muscle soreness, it means that the load has stimulated the muscles. The physiological and biochemical indicators of muscles have changed. After a short rest and stretching, you can perform subsequent exercises according to the exercise items and intensity. It can better stimulate muscles and exercise muscle adaptability and endurance. But don't overdo it to avoid straining your muscles. At the same time, do necessary relaxation after training, because the muscles will still experience delayed muscle soreness the next day. Next time you exercise, you must warm up beforehand to increase muscle elasticity and reduce muscle viscosity. You must also relax seriously after exercise, which will effectively relieve muscle soreness and help recover from fatigue.

In this case, you can apply local hot compress, electrotherapy, external use of Voltaren, external application of Chinese herbal analgesic ointment, etc. If the pain is severe, take oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs such as ibuprofen, and pay attention to rest.

Many people want to develop abdominal muscles quickly, so they do a lot of push-ups a day. But think about it, your arms have limited endurance and are not made of iron. How can you not feel sore? You should proceed step by step and don't be in a hurry. Take it slowly, otherwise you will get hurt and the gain will outweigh the loss. You also need to do the preparatory work and be mentally prepared. Don't give up the next day just because you feel a little tired.
