Which is better, tampon or sanitary napkin?

For female friends, there are a few days every month that are very inconvenient, and that is menstruation. If you are not careful during menstruation, it is easy to dirty your clothes or bed sheets, etc., which is very troublesome. So you want to choose an item that can better absorb your menstrual blood, but you are confused in the choice of tampons and sanitary napkins.

Definition of sanitary napkin: Sanitary napkin, also known as sanitary napkin, is an absorbent material. Its main materials are cotton pulp and polymer absorbent. It is used to absorb menstrual blood flowing out of the vagina during women's menstruation.

When people usually talk about sanitary napkins, they actually mean built-in tampons. A tampon, also known as a sanitary plug or simply a cotton tampon, is a cotton cylinder that can be inserted into the vagina to absorb menstrual blood when a woman has her period. It is more commonly used by European and American women. Tampons are rarely used among women in Asian countries because Asians traditionally do not like suppositories.

The material of tampons is mainly made of cotton, synthetic fibers or a mixture of these two materials. They come in sizes ranging from 1 cm to 1.9 cm in diameter, with a cotton thread (drawstring) attached to the end. The degree of arc at the tip of tampons varies from brand to brand, allowing users to choose according to their own usage habits. The body of a tampon often has straight or diagonal indentations that increase the tampon's ability to conduct fluid and allow it to fit against the vaginal wall as it expands to absorb menstrual blood.

Since tampons are built in, if they are not replaced in time or if hands are not thoroughly disinfected when replaced, the possibility of infection will be greatly increased, so frequent use is not recommended.

But there are pros and cons. Tampons are not as perfect as we think. They also have defects. For example, tampons are not suitable for virgins because they will press on the vaginal wall during use, sometimes causing ulcers of the vaginal wall. There are even reports that some people use tampons, which causes a type of bacteria to multiply in the vagina, causing symptoms such as sore throat, fever, joint and muscle pain, low blood pressure, and even shock.

This time we are going to talk about our “own children”. Many women are accustomed to using sanitary napkins. Indeed, it has been used for so long and naturally has its advantages, such as: it is convenient to use and feels safe.

But it also has disadvantages, otherwise it would not have led to the emergence of new things. When using sanitary napkins, since they are attached to the inside of underwear, when the cotton pad absorbs more blood, it must be replaced. Especially when the weather is hot and humid, the menstrual blood seeps through the sanitary napkin, which not only easily emits odor, but also easily infects the vulva with Candida albicans, causing vulvar itching, so it needs to be changed more frequently.

This article introduces to us in detail which one is better, tampons or sanitary napkins. In fact, tampons are built-in sanitary napkins, and these two items have advantages and disadvantages. You should decide based on your own situation. If the amount of menstrual blood is very heavy, it is not suitable to use tampons.
