How to remove blood stains from clothes

How to remove blood stains from clothes

If you don't pay attention, some blood stains will drip onto your clothes. It may be difficult to remove them with ordinary laundry detergent or washing powder. Therefore, many housewives are very distressed about how to remove blood stains from clothes. In response to this phenomenon, here we recommend in detail some effective methods to quickly solve the problem of oil stains on clothes. This method can achieve good results.

Just wash with ginger. If there are blood stains on clothes, they should be washed in cold water immediately. Because when the blood has not coagulated, the iron in hemoglobin exists in the form of ferrous iron and is soluble in water. Over time, the ferrous iron in hemoglobin is oxidized into ferric iron and coagulates with protein, forming blood stains on fabrics that are difficult to wash off. Therefore, as soon as blood stains the surface, you should immediately wash it with cold water (never use hot water, because blood will coagulate when it comes into contact with heat), and then wash it with soap or 10% potassium iodide solution to remove it. If the blood stains on the clothes have solidified and become old marks, they should be soaked in cold water for a long time first.

Scrub to remove surface dirt. To remove blood stains between fibers, you can continue soaking and scrubbing with enzyme laundry detergent. The alkaline protease in enzyme laundry detergent can loosen and disintegrate the protein in the blood stains and peel them off the fabric. Then scrub with 10% to 15% oxalic acid solution for 1 to 2 minutes, because oxalic acid is a reducing agent, which can reduce water-insoluble trivalent iron to water-soluble divalent iron. Just wash with clean water to remove the stains. To wash old blood stains, you can also soak them in cold water for a long time first. After rubbing and milling, wipe the stained area with 10% tartaric acid solution or 10% ammonia water. Finally rinse with clean water.

If there are blood stains on your clothes, you can try to use the methods introduced above, but at the same time, you should also pay attention to prevention as much as possible in your daily life. If there are blood stains on your clothes, you should wash them as soon as possible, because the longer the blood stains stay, the more difficult it may be to remove them, so you must wash them quickly.
