Dental problems are a common phenomenon in our lives. Sometimes teeth are severely damaged and have to be extracted. Often, we have to use dentures instead to avoid affecting our normal diet. However, there are many types of dentures, among which removable dentures are a common one and the one we come into contact with most often. Let's take a look at the materials of removable dentures. There are several materials for removable dentures 1. Full removable dentures Full-mouth removable dentures consist of two parts: the base and artificial teeth. They are retained in place by the adsorption force and atmospheric pressure generated by the close fit between the denture base and the mucosa and the edge sealing, and are adsorbed on the upper and lower alveolar ridges to restore the patient's facial shape and function. There are several types of complete removable dentures: 1) Covering full denture: The manufacturing materials are roughly the same as those of suction-type full denture. It is suitable for cases where there are still some teeth or residual roots in the mouth, but the patient does not need, is not suitable for or does not want to have teeth extracted. 2) Traditional suction-type full dentures: Due to different manufacturing materials, they are roughly divided into many varieties, such as (resin) rubber trays, cast stainless steel trays, titanium alloy trays, pure titanium trays, precious metal trays, elastic invisible dentures, non-breakable (resin) rubber trays, etc. Among them, pure titanium butt pads are more comfortable to wear, while non-shattering (resin) rubber butt pads are more beautiful. 2. Partial removable dentures By using the adjacent teeth or other remaining teeth in the edentulous area as well as the alveolar ridge and mucosa for support, and with the help of the clasps and bases on the denture, the denture can be well retained in the mouth, thereby repairing local tooth loss and restoring the function of the teeth and dentition. There are mainly the following types of partial removable dentures: 1) Precision attachment removable partial denture: a restoration that uses various high-precision buttons or locks and other accessories to fix the removable partial denture to perform the chewing function. More beautiful and stable than clasp-type removable partial dentures. 2) Traditional clasp-type removable partial dentures: Due to different manufacturing materials, they are roughly divided into many varieties, such as bent stainless steel wire (resin) trays, cast stainless steel trays, titanium alloy trays, pure titanium trays, precious metal trays, elastic invisible dentures, etc. Among them, precious metal trays are most suitable for the posterior teeth area, and elastic invisible dentures are more beautiful for repairing the anterior teeth area. 3) Telescopic crown removable partial denture: The telescopic crown is made using the original abutment teeth. Better looking, easier to clean dentures. The above is an introduction to several types of materials for removable dentures. After understanding, we know that there are many types of dentures. When we have problems with our teeth, we must go to a regular specialist hospital for examination and treatment in time. In addition, we must pay attention to maintaining good oral hygiene in our daily life. |
