Where is the upper eyelid located?

The eyelids are soft tissues that grow in front of the eyeball. They are like two doors that can open and close automatically, protecting the eyeball. The eyelid is divided into two parts, the upper eyelid is larger and wider than the lower eyelid. The upper boundary of the upper eyelid is the eyebrow, and the lower boundary of the lower eyelid is the cheek, but there is no obvious boundary at the dividing line. The edge of the upper and lower eyelids is called the eyelid margin. If the people around us are not doctors, many of them don’t know where the upper eyelid is. So let’s take a look and find out.

1. Eyelids are commonly known as eyelids. It is divided into upper eyelid and lower eyelid, which covers the front of the eyeball when the eyes are closed to protect the eyeball. The gap between the upper and lower eyelids is called the palpebral fissure. There is a tear point on each eyelid margin near the inner corner of the eye. There is a row of eyelashes on the edge of the eyelid, which serves to block dust and sand. The tissue structure of the eyelid from outside to inside is skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscle layer, tarsal plate and conjunctiva. The tarsal plate between the skin and the conjunctiva is a dense connective tissue that contains meibomian glands, which secrete oily substances that have a lubricating effect and prevent tears from flowing out. The subcutaneous tissue of the eyelids is thin and loose, prone to inflammation and edema. When the eyelids are infected or suffer from diseases such as nephritis, significant eyelid edema is often seen. When the sebaceous glands of the eyelashes become inflamed, they often swell and form styes. Meibomian gland swelling may form when the meibomian glands are blocked.

2. The eyelids are divided into upper eyelids and lower eyelids, located in front of the eyeball and serving as a barrier to protect the eyeball. The gap between the upper and lower eyelids is called the palpebral fissure. To put it simply, it is the area where the eyelashes are located.

3. Maintain a balanced diet: Do not overeat or go on a diet to lose weight, as this will increase the burden on the skin and cause the eyelid skin to become loose, so a balanced diet is very important for protecting the skin.

4. Pay attention to sun protection, because the skin on the eyelids is only a thin layer and very delicate. Therefore, more than 90% of people's eyelid skin sagging is caused by photoaging due to excessive exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun. Excessive oxidation causes the cells in the eyelids to lose elasticity and cause eyelid skin relaxation.

The above briefly introduces where the upper eyelid is located. Eyes are the windows to the human soul. Only by protecting them well can we obtain more information. The health of our body is not only inside the body, but also outside the body needs to be maintained and protected. Problems in any part of the body will affect our other tissues. You should pay more attention to your physical health index in daily life.
