Liver function is very important to us, because when our liver function is damaged, our amino acids and transaminases will also be damaged to a certain extent. Moreover, the main function of the liver is to help us detoxify. If the detoxification function in our body is disturbed, the toxins in our body cannot be discharged, and we are prone to various diseases. So how is abnormal liver function diagnosed? There are many indicators in liver function tests. Commonly used liver function test items include: alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, direct bilirubin, indirect bilirubin, total bilirubin, total protein, globulin, albumin, γ-glutamyl transpeptidase, alkaline phosphatase, prothrombin activity, etc. These indicators can reflect whether liver function is normal. And some indicators have important guiding significance for the treatment of the disease, so everyone needs to understand them. What are the indicators of abnormal liver function? 1. Abnormal transaminase When liver tissue is damaged, transaminases will increase, including alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase. Transaminase is originally in liver cells. When liver cells are damaged, they will be released into the blood. Therefore, when liver tissue is damaged, transaminase will increase. 2. Abnormal bilirubin Bilirubin can be divided into direct bilirubin and indirect bilirubin. If both direct and indirect bilirubin levels increase at the same time, it is likely that there is an obstruction in the liver's hepatocytes' uptake, binding or excretion of bilirubin, and appropriate treatment should be taken immediately. The normal value of total bilirubin is 1.7-17.1 umol/l, the normal value of direct bilirubin is 0.0-3.42 umol/l, and the normal value of indirect bilirubin is 1.7-13.68 umol/l. 3. Decreased albumin and globulin ALB (albumin) and increased GLB (globulin) are indicators of abnormal liver function, indicating that the liver's reserve capacity is abnormal and requires timely treatment. The normal value of ALB (albumin) is 40-55 g/L, the normal value of GLB (globulin) is 20-30.0 g/L, and the normal value of A/G (albumin-globulin ratio) is (1.5-2.5):1. 4. γ-glutamyl transpeptidase and alkaline phosphatase often reflect the liver secretion function and biliary excretion function. Elevated γ-glutamyl transpeptidase (γ-GT) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) should be considered as damage and inflammation of the liver and biliary system and biliary obstruction. Such as primary biliary cirrhosis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, alcoholic hepatitis or chronic hepatitis, cholelithiasis, ampullary cancer and pancreatic cancer compressing the bile duct, etc. Of course, the results of biochemical tests of liver function are a very complex issue, and a comprehensive analysis and judgment based on the patient's condition is needed to make a more objective and correct diagnosis. |
