How to prevent centipedes at home

Centipedes are animals that most people are afraid of. Not only does their appearance give people a bad impression, but the key is that many movies exaggerate the harm done by centipedes, leaving a very bad impression on people. Centipedes are reptiles that may appear anywhere. Due to their certain toxicity, some people are very afraid of having centipedes in their homes and are very concerned about some measures to prevent centipedes. So, how can we prevent centipedes at home? Let’s take a closer look below.

Centipede is a terrestrial arthropod whose body is composed of many segments, each of which has walking legs, making it a multi-legged creature. The centipede, also known as the sky dragon, centipede, few-spined centipede, Wu Gong, and maggot, is a venomous, predatory terrestrial arthropod. There are three common types of centipedes: red-headed, green-headed, and black-headed. The back of the red head is reddish-black, the abdomen is light red, and the feet are light orange or yellow. The green-headed centipede has a blue back and feet, a light blue abdomen, and is small in size, about half the length of the red-headed centipede.

Centipedes like dark and humid places. For home prevention, you should pay attention to keeping the room clean and dry. You can spray some disinfectant or insecticide in the corners. Once you are stung by a centipede, do not try to squeeze out the venom. Squeezing hard will accelerate blood circulation, causing the venom to spread and causing swelling of the wound.

The correct method is to tie it tightly with a cloth tape 2-3 cm above the upper end of the injured limb, and relax it for 1-2 minutes every 15 minutes. You can apply ice compresses around the wound, cut the skin of the injured area, suck out the venom with a suction device or cupping, apply medical ammonia or soapy water to the wound, or crush 10 Bezoar Detoxification Pills, mix with vinegar and apply to the affected area. You can also use mashed Houttuynia cordata and dandelion for external application. The venom of centipedes can also cause allergies. If local burning, severe pain, or redness and swelling appear on the wound after emergency treatment, you should go to the hospital immediately.

If we want to know how to prevent centipedes at home, we must first be familiar with the habits of centipedes and the environment they like to live in. Only by making our living environment unsuitable for its existence can we naturally prevent centipedes from running into our home. Centipedes are poisonous, and centipede bites often happen. We need to know what to do after being bitten.
