How to remove rust from an electric kettle

How to remove rust from an electric kettle

If the electric kettle is used for a long time, it will naturally produce water rust. This is a normal phenomenon. However, we all know that if these water rust is absorbed by the human body after drinking, it will cause adverse harm to health. So now I will introduce to you some effective methods to solve the long-term water rust problem in the kettle. Only by removing the water rust can you drink water safely and healthily.

? Vinegar descaling

This method is the simplest and most practical method. The main component of scale is carbonate such as calcium carbonate. The acetic acid in vinegar will react with it to produce water-soluble minerals and carbon dioxide gas. White vinegar can be bought in general supermarkets. Put 10% of white vinegar into the kettle scale, then fill it with water, boil it and let it sit for about an hour, then brush it. Aged vinegar can also be used, but the effect of aged vinegar is not as good as white vinegar.

Descaling with potato peels

After using an aluminum kettle or pot for a period of time, a thin layer of scale will form. Put potato peels in it, add appropriate amount of water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 10 minutes to remove the scale.

Descaling an Electric Kettle by Boiling Sweet Potatoes

In a new room, put more than half a kettle of sweet potatoes, fill it with water, and cook the sweet potatoes. When you boil water next time, there will be no scale accumulation. But be careful not to scrub the inner wall of the kettle after boiling sweet potatoes, otherwise the descaling effect will be lost. For old kettles that are full of scale, after boiling them once or twice using the above method, not only will the original scale gradually fall off, but it will also prevent scale from accumulating again.

Descaling with baking soda

Generally, the heating plate of electric kettles is made of aluminum. When boiling water in the electric kettle, scale is easily formed. Generally, we can put 1 teaspoon of baking soda and boil it for a few minutes to remove the scale. Alternatively, you can pour in about 500 grams of 1% baking soda water, shake it gently, and the scale can be removed.

Have you mastered the above-mentioned methods of quickly removing scale from electric kettles? You should also pay attention to cleaning it regularly. Because many times there is too much scale accumulated in the kettle, which is caused by not paying attention to regular cleaning, which will naturally cause harm to your health.
