How to overcome adolescents' visual phobia

How to overcome adolescents' visual phobia

Teenagers are the flowers of the motherland and the pillars of the future. However, in recent years, with the increasing academic and employment pressures, many young people have become less and less confident. When talking to family, friends and strangers, they are particularly afraid of being stared at, and even more afraid of making eye contact with others, which is a symptom of visual phobia. So what are the treatment methods for visual phobia in teenagers?

Adolescents' eye contact phobia needs to be treated with systematic desensitization. The specific steps are:

1. Look in the mirror at least three times a day, look at yourself in the mirror and smile at yourself to relax and keep a natural expression. Also, look yourself directly at the mirror, and you will gradually get used to looking others in the eye.

2. Use deep breathing to overcome psychological tension and anxiety, and thereby overcome your own delusions. By regulating breathing, it affects various systems of the body, including the activities of the nervous system, making them rhythmic. Combining work and rest and doing 1-2 hours of physical exercise every day can also help relieve mental tension.

3. Tell your relatives and friends about your "symptom" and ask them to help you overcome the fear of looking at others. Having the courage to tell others is the beginning of treatment. Practice looking your relatives and friends in the eye when you talk to them, don't be afraid of being laughed at by others, and gradually it will become a habit.

4. To train your concentration and achieve inner peace, you can do a "bean-scattering experiment", which is both interesting and therapeutic: scatter 1-10 beans on a plate, with different numbers each time (ask others to scatter the beans), and immediately say the number of beans, recording the time taken and whether it is correct or not. Keep doing it every day, starting with 10 minutes and gradually increasing the time. When you reach a level where your errors are reduced and your reactions are quick and accurate, it means you are able to concentrate while being watched by others. Less than 5 errors within 1 hour are sufficient.

If you suffer from "eye contact phobia", don't worry, just learn from the shy little yellow warbler and your problem will be cured. Remember: you have to relax, always smile, and your brain and eyes will listen to you. Have confidence in yourself, don't worry about nothing, and don't bother yourself with trivial matters, and you will be as healthy and happy as before.
