What are the dangers of sitting for long periods of time? These consequences must be prevented!

The phenomenon of long-term sitting is quite common in life, especially among office workers. Long-term sitting can cause great harm to the body and can easily lead to a decline in heart function or affect the body's blood circulation.

1. Sitting for a long time can easily lead to prostatitis

When sitting for a long time, the weight of the upper body is all pressed on the lower body. The prostate located in the perineum is severely harmed by the "heavy pressure", which can easily lead to poor blood circulation in the prostate, accumulation of metabolic products, blockage of the prostate ducts, and poor secretion of glandular fluid, causing chronic congestion of the prostate and further causing prostatitis.

2. Sitting for a long time will cause heart function to decline

The body's demand for cardiac workload decreases, and blood circulation slows down. Over time, the heart function will decline, causing cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial atrophy, arteriosclerosis, hypertension, and coronary heart disease. Studies have shown that the incidence of coronary heart disease among seated mental workers is 12%, while that among physical workers is only 3%.

3. Sitting for a long time will cause poor blood circulation

Sitting still for a long time will obstruct venous return, dilate the veins in the rectum and anal canal, cause blood stasis, lead to varicose veins and hemorrhoids, anal pain, bleeding or bloody stools, etc.

4. Sitting for long periods of time can cause men to enter menopause early

Men who sit for a long time are prone to abdominal obesity, or belly fat, due to lack of exercise opportunities. Sitting for a long time compresses the prostate and testicles, affects local blood circulation, and can easily lead to sexual dysfunction. Sitting for a long time can also cause psychological depression, listlessness, fatigue, and constant yawning. Therefore, male intellectual workers who are always "stuck" to their chairs will enter menopause earlier than other men.

5. Sitting for a long time can cause cervical stiffness

Sitting for a long time will affect the blood supply of the carotid artery to the head, and also destroy the normal physiological curvature, causing hunchback or bone hyperplasia.
