How to judge lumbar muscle strain, timely diagnosis is very important

The most common symptom of lumbar muscle strain is low back pain, so this is also a basis for judging lumbar muscle strain. This disease needs timely treatment, otherwise it will cause lumbar disc herniation. Some diagnostic methods and symptoms can be used to diagnose the disease in time.

1. Diagnostic basis

1. The tenderness of the lower back is widespread, and the tenderness points are mostly in the sacrospinal muscles, lumbar transverse processes and the posterior edge of the iliac crest.

2. Muscle spasm: When palpated, the waist muscles are tense and spasmodic, or there is a feeling of nodules and hypertrophy.

3. X-ray examination: A small number of patients may have congenital malformations and elderly patients may have bone hyperplasia, but no other abnormalities are found.

1. Soreness or distension in the waist, local tingling or burning pain.

2. It gets worse when you are tired and gets better when you rest; it gets better with proper exercise and frequent changes of body position, but gets worse with excessive activity.

3. Unable to persist in bending over to work, often forced to stretch the waist from time to time or hit the waist with fists to relieve pain.

4. There are tender points in the lower back, mostly in the sacrospinal muscle, the posterior part of the iliac spine, the insertion point of the sacrospinal muscle behind the sacrum, or the transverse process of the lumbar vertebra.

5. There is usually no abnormality in the appearance and movement of the waist, and there is no obvious lumbar muscle spasm. A few patients have slightly restricted waist movement.

3. Health education on lumbar muscle strain

1. Use a hard cushioned bed. Sleep is an important part of people's lives. The suitability of the bed directly affects people's health. A mattress that is too soft cannot maintain the normal physiological curvature of the spine, so it is best to add a 10-cm thick cushion on the wooden board.

2. Pay attention to losing weight and controlling your weight. Being too fat will inevitably bring extra burden to the waist, especially for middle-aged people and women after childbirth, which are periods when it is easy to gain weight. It is necessary to control your diet and increase exercise.

3. Exercise moderation in sexual intercourse. “The waist is the home of the kidneys.” Excessive sexual intercourse will inevitably damage the kidneys. Kidney deficiency will cause lower back pain.

4. Labor: Incorrect working posture can easily cause lumbar muscle strain. Now we list some correct working postures to help you prevent lumbar muscle strain.
