Bone dislocation is mainly caused by trauma or some pathological reasons, which leads to the fracture or dislocation of the joint. These patients must pay attention to apply hot or cold compresses to the local area after injury, especially when sprained, which can help reduce swelling and inflammation. 1. Bone dislocation is different from fracture. Fracture refers to a disease in which the bone is partially or completely broken due to trauma or pathology. Bone dislocation is a deviation in the occlusion at the bone joint, but the bone is not broken. Bone dislocation injuries are generally caused by excessive joint movement, which can lead to tearing of the ligaments that connect the joint to adjacent bones and displacement of the bones at the joint, resulting in sprains. It may be due to excessive force or sudden impact. 2. Family treatment measures 1 Before doing warm-up exercises for bone dislocation, you must only do warm-up exercises to avoid muscle injuries. Before exercise, the temperature of muscles is about 37°C and they are stiff. After warming up for 5 minutes, the muscle temperature rises and the muscles gradually relax. After exercise, you must wait until your body temperature returns to normal before taking a shower. This can prevent abnormal muscle contractions and even heart disease. 2. Do not apply hot compress immediately after injury. Apply cold compress to the affected area immediately, especially if it is a sprain. This helps reduce swelling and inflammation. Use this cold therapy for 24-36 hours after the injury. If you injure your ankle or muscle, elevate the affected area. After the cold therapy is finished, continue with heat therapy and cold therapy. Alternate every 20 minutes to relieve pain. 3 Bandage fixation: Wrap the sprained area with an elastic bandage for 2-4 weeks to fix and support the affected area. Do not over-tighten as this may restrict blood flow. Let the affected area rest for a few days without any further activity until the swelling and pain subsides. 4 Hot compress: Soaking the affected area in warm or hot water can relieve persistent pain, but do not use this method before the swelling subsides. 5. Rest more to allow the injured muscles to rest completely, and avoid excessive activity. 6. Check the joint promptly. If the sprain is serious, you may want to do an X-ray of the joint, because it is often difficult to distinguish between a severe sprain and a fracture. If confirmed, the bone can be dislocated and a plaster cast can be placed on the sprained limb or finger. |
