What are the dangers of moderate fatty liver

Fatty liver affects the health and lives of many people, so the treatment of fatty liver should be taken seriously, because it can cause liver damage, induce diabetes, and reduce the body's immunity and detoxification function.

1. Fatty liver damages the digestive system

The stomach, intestines, liver, and gallbladder are all important organs of the digestive system. The three major nutrients (protein, fat, and sugar) absorbed by the body must be metabolized by the liver before they can be used by the body. Patients with fatty liver have impaired liver function, which will affect the spleen, gallbladder, stomach, and intestines over time. Liver disease often affects the function of the gallbladder. About 20% to 30% of patients have fatty liver disease; they are accompanied by chronic cholecystitis and cholelithiasis. Therefore, early prevention and treatment of fatty liver is particularly important.

2. Fatty liver can induce or aggravate diabetes

Patients with fatty liver have lipid metabolism disorders, which can induce and aggravate sugar metabolism disorders. Diabetes is a disease characterized by glucose metabolism disorder, mainly due to insufficient insulin secretion or insulin resistance, and is characterized by hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, and hyperaminoacidemia. About 50% of diabetic patients have fatty liver, which shows that fatty liver and diabetes are a pair of brothers in distress. Patients with fatty liver have disordered lipid metabolism, high levels of triglycerides in the blood, and are often accompanied by hyperlipidemia, which increases blood viscosity and promotes the formation of atherosclerosis. Arteriosclerosis is closely related to hypertension and coronary heart disease. Studies have shown that patients with alcoholic fatty liver combined with hypertension and coronary heart disease are prone to myocardial infarction and sudden death.

3. Fatty liver reduces the body’s immune and detoxification functions

Patients with fatty liver suffer from fatty degeneration or necrosis of liver cells, which reduces the immune function of the liver. Patients with fatty liver often have hepatosplenomegaly. The spleen is also an important immune organ in the human body. Spleen enlargement can cause hypersplenism. Abnormal spleen function inhibits the function of cellular immunity. Therefore, patients with fatty liver have reduced immune function and poor resistance, making them more susceptible to infection. In addition, after the liver cells undergo fatty degeneration, their detoxification function is reduced, which can easily cause endotoxins and exotoxins to accumulate in the body, causing harm to the body.
