Do I need to pour out the water used to soak the bird's nest?

We all know that if we want to stew the bird's nest we bought, we must soak it first before using it. But should the water used to soak the bird's nest be kept or does it have any nutritional value? In fact, it can be said with certainty that the water used to soak the bird's nest has no therapeutic effect and can be directly poured away.

1. Dried bird's nests are not as clean as pure bird's nests. In order to maintain the shape of the nest, the hair, impurities and other dirt in many places cannot be picked out, so the water for soaking bird's nests is still a little dirty.

2. We generally recommend soaking bird's nests in cool water or purified water. In cold water, the nutrients in the bird's nest will not dissolve in the water, so it is wrong to say that the water used to soak the bird's nest has nutritional value.

3. In fact, the water used to soak the bird's nest is relatively dirty. After all, the bird's nest is where the golden swiftlets live. The water after soaking will contain impurities or bacteria from the bird's nest. Moreover, if you use cold water to soak the bird's nest, no nutrients will remain in the water, so it is recommended to pour out the soaking water, replace the water and then simmer it on low heat.

4. It is recommended to change the water at least twice or more when cleaning the bird's nest. If you find it troublesome to pick out the feathers when cleaning, you don't have to pick them out. The small bird's feathers have no effect on eating.

5. It is recommended to use purified water to soak the bird's nest, pour it out after soaking, rinse the soaked bird's nest with ordinary tap water, and stew the bird's nest with purified water or boiled water.

In summary, the nutrients in bird's nest will not dissolve in water, so water has no nutritional value. Therefore, it is best to pour out the water used to soak the bird's nest.
