What to do about venous vascular sclerosis and what to eat

I believe everyone is familiar with arteriosclerosis, but we rarely hear about venous hardening in our daily lives. Venous vascular sclerosis is indeed rare, but if you do not take good care of your body, your veins will harden just like your arteries. So if the veins are hardened, how should we improve them through diet therapy?

1. Properly control total calories: can keep weight within the normal standard range. Overweight and obese people should control their daily food intake, but dietary control should be gradual and combined with exercise therapy. A weight loss of 0.5 to 1 kg per month is sufficient. Try to eat less sugar and candies and cakes with high sugar content.

2. Eat less high-cholesterol foods: High-cholesterol foods such as animal offal, preserved eggs, etc. should be eaten as little as possible, especially for those with elevated plasma cholesterol, which should be strictly controlled, but sufficient protein intake must be ensured. Although egg yolks contain high cholesterol, they contain lecithin, which has a preventive and therapeutic effect on arteriosclerosis. They can be consumed appropriately, but not more than 2 eggs a day.

3. Eat less animal oil (lard): To prevent and treat arteriosclerosis, you should eat more unsaturated fatty acids, mainly vegetable oils. Because animal oils are mainly saturated fatty acids, you should eat as little as possible, but you cannot completely avoid eating animal oils, otherwise it will bring some other adverse effects to the body. Generally, the ratio of animal oil to vegetable oil should be about 1:3.

4. Eat more foods rich in vitamins and fiber: Various vitamins have the effect of lowering cholesterol and preventing arteriosclerosis. You can eat more foods rich in vitamins and fiber, such as fresh fruits, beans, and vegetables. Don't eat too refined staple foods, because the germ of cereals contains rich vitamin E and other beneficial ingredients.

5. Eat more foods rich in potassium, iodine and chromium: It is currently believed that potassium salt can protect the cardiovascular system, while sodium salt will increase the burden on the heart. Therefore, patients with arteriosclerosis should not eat too salty food. At the same time, they should eat more potassium-rich foods, such as mushrooms, beans (soybeans, mung beans, red beans, broad beans), spinach, seaweed, lotus seeds, amaranth, etc. Iodine can lower blood cholesterol and is beneficial for preventing and treating arteriosclerosis. Therefore, you should eat more iodine-rich foods such as marine fish, sea cucumbers, shrimps, kelp, and seaweed. Regular consumption of foods high in chromium, such as beans, chicken, shellfish, etc., can also help prevent and treat arteriosclerosis.

6. Eat small and frequent meals, avoid smoking and drinking, and drink tea regularly: Eating more frequently helps lower the body's low-density lipoprotein. While ensuring that the total amount of food intake remains unchanged, 4 to 5 meals a day can be arranged. In addition, since tobacco and alcohol can affect the function of the cardiovascular system, patients with arteriosclerosis should quit smoking and drinking, but drinking red wine in moderation can prevent and treat arteriosclerosis. Drinking tea regularly can prevent arteriosclerosis because the catechin contained in tea can reduce serum cholesterol concentration and the ratio of cholesterol to phospholipids, increase blood vessel flexibility, elasticity and permeability, and prevent arteriosclerosis.
