Acupuncture treatment for stroke sequelae has very good results

The sequelae of stroke include facial paralysis, inability to speak, hemiplegia, urinary incontinence, constipation, hemiplegia, etc., which have a great impact on patients and their families. To treat the sequelae of stroke, you can choose Chinese medicine acupuncture. Acupuncture at the correct acupoints is very effective.

1. Facial paralysis

Symptoms: One eyelid cannot be closed or lifted, the corner of the mouth droops, the tongue is extended to the affected side, and drooling occurs at the corner of the mouth.

Acupoints: Taiyang, Sibai, Fengchi, Dicang, Jiache, and Hegu.

Acupuncture method: The needle can be inserted along the inner edge of the zygomatic arch and penetrated towards the cheek car. Sibai can be pierced directly to touch the bone hole, and a sense of discharge will appear. Fengchi can be pierced towards the larynx, with a depth of 1.5 to 2 inches. Dicang and cheek car can be punctured mutually.

2. Aphasia

Symptoms: Unable to answer questions or understand questions, unable to speak, and unable to name objects correctly.

Acupoints: Shangxing, Baihui, Fengchi, Jinjin, Yuye, Tongli, Tianzhu and Lianquan.

Acupuncture method: Shangxing and Baihui can be punctured mutually, and Jinjin and Yuye can be punctured with a three-edged needle for bloodletting. Lianquan can be pierced deep into the root of the tongue, so that the soreness and swelling sensation reaches the root of the tongue directly.

3. Upper limb paralysis

Symptoms: Weakness in the early stage, cramps in the upper limbs in the later stage, and the affected limbs cannot be flexed and extended freely.

Acupoints: Jiquan, Chize, Hegu, Jian, Quchi, Waiguan.

Acupuncture method: The needle should be inserted into Jiquan so that the discharge sensation is transmitted to the fingers. Puncture Hegu to transmit the needle sensation to the fingers. The remaining points can be treated with the method of equal tonification and equal purgation.

4. Lower limb paralysis

Symptoms: The affected limb cannot be lifted, often accompanied by inversion of the foot, and the sole of the foot cannot touch the ground.

Acupoints: Weizhong, Yinlingquan, Kunlun, Huantiao, Sanyinjiao, Yanglingquan, Jiexi, Qiuxu, Zhaohai.

Acupuncture method: When inserting needle into Huantiao, Weizhong and Sanyinjiao, the needle sensation should be transmitted to the foot. The hills and ruins can penetrate the sea. The remaining acupoints can be treated with the method of equal tonification and equal purgation.

5. Constipation

Symptoms: Constipation

Acupoints: Tianshu, Fenglong, Shuidao, Guilai.

Acupuncture method: Use the twisting and draining method, move the needle for 1 minute, retain the needle for 20 minutes, and move the needle once every 5 minutes.

6. Urinary incontinence

Symptoms: Urinary incontinence

Acupoints: Guanyuan, Qihai, Taixi, Yinlingquan.

Acupuncture method: Use filiform needle tonification method on Guanyuan and Qihai, and add moxibustion. It is suitable to use tonification method on Taixi. Yinlingquan should be treated with drainage method. For urinary retention, you can refer to this group of acupoints and add Zhongji. However, the acupoints should not be pierced too deeply to prevent damage to the distended bladder.

7. Hemiplegia

Symptoms: Long-term hemiplegia with limb cramps

Acupoints: Taiyang, Quze, Yangjiao, Jiexi, Weizhong.

Acupuncture method: Those that can be pricked, such as Taiyang, Quze, Yangjiao, Jiexi, Weizhong, etc., can be punctured for bloodletting, with the amount of blood bleeding at each point being 5 to 15 ml. Once every 7 to 10 days.
