Treatment of acute urethritis

1. General treatment

2. Other methods

Acute urethritis is treated with a combination of antibiotics and chemical drugs, which has a better effect.

If the patient has urinary tract irritation symptoms and conventional antimicrobial treatment is ineffective, and there are no complicating factors, mycoplasma, chlamydia or viral infection should be considered, and tetracycline can be used as the first treatment. If there is resistance to tetracycline, erythromycin, methyl erythromycin or roxithromycin can be used instead. Alternatively, you can use traditional Chinese medicine for treatment. The above medicines are effective against mycoplasma and chlamydia. If the above treatments are still ineffective, it may be acute urethral syndrome.

3. Male treatment

1. Treatment principles and plans: For male patients with urethritis, treatment should mainly target pathogens that can cause serious consequences, such as gonococci and Chlamydia trachomatis. The patient's sex partners should be examined and treated.

2. Treatment of uncured cases: A small number of male urethritis patients still show symptoms or recurrent urethritis after the above treatment.

4. Female treatment

Women have their own unique physiological characteristics: for example, the female urethra is shorter and straighter than that of men, and the female urethra is closer to the anus and vagina, which provides "convenience" for bacteria to infect the female urethra. The focus of prevention and treatment of urethritis for men is naturally different from that for women, and women should also prevent and treat urethritis at all ages. When girls are young, parents should change their diapers frequently to reduce the chance of feces and other bacteria infecting the urethra and avoid urethritis.
