Can I get pregnant if I am positive for herpes simplex virus type 1

The public doesn't seem to know much about herpes simplex virus type 1, but in fact its symptoms are herpes. Herpes simplex virus type 1 is contagious to a certain extent, and because there is no vaccine for this virus, people who are positive for herpes simplex virus type 1 need to avoid transmitting the virus to their family members through the mouth or saliva as much as possible.

1. What does it mean to be positive for herpes simplex virus type 1?

HSV-1 infection is a highly contagious infection that is prevalent throughout the world. Most HSV-1 infections are acquired during childhood, and the infection persists throughout life.

Most HSV-1 infections are oral herpes (an infection in or around the mouth, sometimes called herpes labialis or herpes facialis), but some are genital herpes (an infection in the genital or anal area). In 2012, an estimate was made that approximately 140 million people aged 15-49 worldwide suffer from genital HSV-1 infection, but the prevalence varies greatly by region. However, most genital HSV-1 infections occur in the Americas, Europe, and the Western Pacific, where HSV-1 continues to be prevalent in adulthood.

2. Can I get pregnant if I am positive for herpes simplex virus type 1?

Herpes simplex virus type 1 is relatively common. As we all know, it causes inflammation and herpes of the oral mucosa, nasal vestibule, conjunctiva, and throat. 99% of herpes occurring in and around the mouth is caused by infection with herpes simplex virus type 1. Herpes simplex virus type 1 appears in so many parts of the body, so if the herpes simplex virus type 1 test is positive, can I get pregnant?

This again involves the issue of the whole and the part. Whether or not one can get pregnant cannot be simply determined by one result. Herpes simplex IgG is the antibody produced by a patient who has been infected with herpes simplex. Igm is the only immunoglobulin that can pass through the placenta. The rubella virus can be transmitted to the fetus from the mother's blood through the placenta, or it can ascend from the mother's reproductive tract to infect the amniotic cavity and infect the fetus, causing congenital fetal rubella syndrome, congenital cataracts, congenital heart disease, deafness, meningitis, thrombocytopenia, anemia, hepatitis, interstitial pneumonia, maldevelopment, low birth weight and chromosomal abnormalities, etc. However, 1/3 of the fetuses will not develop sequelae such as deafness, encephalitis, diabetes, etc. until after puberty.

For pregnant women, a positive test result for herpes simplex virus type 1 only means that they have been infected with herpes simplex virus type 1 in the past, not now. If the test result is igm-positive, it means that the related virus is still in the body. It is recommended to do an IgM test. If the result is negative, you can get pregnant.
