What is creatinine? You need to know these

Creatinine is a product of muscle metabolism in the human body, but many people do not understand what creatinine is. Creatinine has a very important effect on the human body, and creatinine has a normal value. When creatinine is too high or too low, it may cause many complications.

1. Creatinine is the product of muscle metabolism in the human body. Every 20g of muscle metabolism can produce 1mg of creatinine. Creatinine is mainly excreted from the body by glomerular filtration. Creatinine in the blood comes from both exogenous and endogenous sources. Exogenous creatinine is the product of meat metabolism in the body; endogenous creatinine is the product of muscle tissue metabolism in the body. When the intake of meat food is stable and there is no major change in the body's muscle metabolism, the production of creatinine will be relatively constant.

2. High creatinine may cause complications such as hyperkalemia, hyperuricemia, hyperlipidemia, hypoproteinemia, metabolic acidosis, etc.

3. Creatinine value: Molecular formula: C4H7N3O. Molecular Weight: 113.1 CAS No.: 60-27-5. EINECS No. 200-466-7. White crystals. Decomposes when heated to about 300°C. Soluble in 12 parts of water, slightly soluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in ether, acetone and chloroform. This product is a crystal containing two molecules of water that is precipitated by slow evaporation from a saturated solution. The crystals precipitated from the hot saturated solution contain one molecule of crystal water. The maximum absorption wavelength is 234nm (ε 6900, pH 6.5-12.3), 217nm (ε 4500, pH <3), and 225nm (ε 11100, 1mol/L potassium hydroxide). Flash point 290℃.

4. There are many reasons for low creatinine. The value of urea nitrogen is easily affected by many other factors, so it cannot simply reflect kidney function. After clarifying what is going on with low blood creatinine, we also know clearly that the value of creatinine is relatively simple when there is no muscle disease, and it can rise and fall synchronously with kidney function. Therefore, when the kidney itself is diseased, urea nitrogen and creatinine will rise simultaneously, so the urea nitrogen/creatinine ratio will fall within a certain numerical range (less than 20).
