Bronchiectasis is actually a relatively serious problem, but it is not an infectious disease. However, we should pay attention to the treatment and prevention of this disease in our lives. In daily life, a reasonable diet should also help to effectively alleviate the symptoms. 1. The early symptoms of bronchiectasis are mild. As the disease progresses and infections occur, coughing and sputum increase. They occur and worsen when body position changes. Coughing and sputum often occur when getting up in the morning or lying down at night. The daily sputum volume can reach several hundred milliliters and is yellow-green in color. When the infection worsens and drainage is poor, the amount of sputum may decrease, but the symptoms of systemic poisoning such as fever, chest tightness, and weight loss will worsen. When the expectoration is smooth, systemic symptoms can be alleviated. 2. Most cases of bronchiectasis present with intermittent hemoptysis, often due to rupture of granulation tissue or hemangioma in the bronchus. It may be blood-streaked sputum or massive hemoptysis. In a few cases, because the bronchial drainage is good and the infection is not serious, there may only be repeated hemoptysis without long-term cough and sputum. 3. Bronchiectasis is not an infectious disease, so it is generally not contagious. The main causes of bronchiectasis are bronchial-pulmonary tissue infection and bronchial obstruction. Bronchiectasis may also be caused by congenital developmental disorders and genetic factors, but it is less common. In about 30% of patients with bronchiectasis, the cause is unknown, which may be related to factors such as genetics, immune imbalance or anatomical defects. 4. In addition, we would like to introduce two medicinal diet therapies that are effective in treating bronchiectasis. (1) Bletilla striata porridge: Use 100 grams of glutinous rice, 5 jujubes, and 25 grams of honey, add water and cook until the porridge is almost cooked. Add 15 grams of Bletilla striata powder into the porridge and simmer for a while until the porridge becomes thick and sticky. It is suitable for patients with bronchiectasis and hemoptysis. (2) Lily porridge: 30 grams of dried lily powder, 100 grams of polished rice, add appropriate amount of crystal sugar, cook into porridge and eat in the morning and evening. It is suitable for hemoptysis caused by lung heat. |
