What are the causes of abdominal pain and diarrhea

Abdominal pain and diarrhea cannot generally be considered a disease. It can only be said to be a common symptom. Many factors may cause abdominal pain and diarrhea. There are many reasons for abdominal pain and diarrhea. Bacterial infection cannot be ruled out, and it may also be related to people’s diet.

1. Bacterial infection: People may develop enteritis or bacillary dysentery after eating food contaminated by bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella, or drinking beverages contaminated by bacteria, and will experience varying degrees of abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, tenesmus, fever and other symptoms.

2. Viral infection: The human body is prone to viral diarrhea after being infected with various viruses through food or other means. For example, after being infected with rotavirus, Norwalk virus, Coxsackie virus, Echo virus and other viruses, symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, fever and general discomfort may occur.

3. Food poisoning: It is an acute toxic disease caused by eating food contaminated by bacteria and their toxins, or eating uncooked lentils.

4. Unhygienic food: spoiled food and contaminated water are the main sources of infection, unclean hands, tableware and flies carrying bacteria are the main transmission routes. Its characteristics are: patients experience acute gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever.

5. Gastrointestinal diseases: symptoms of abdominal pain and diarrhea caused by common anorectal diseases such as gastric, duodenal ulcer, gastritis, and gastric cancer.

6. Eating cold food: In summer, many people like to eat cold food and drink cold beer, which can result in gastrointestinal dysfunction, accelerated intestinal motility, and abdominal pain and diarrhea.

7. Indigestion: Irregular diet, overeating, eating indigestible food in summer, or food retention in the stomach due to insufficient intestinal motility can cause symptoms such as abdominal distension, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, acid reflux, heartburn, and belching (hiccups).
