Can drinking black tea lower blood sugar?

Blood sugar is the sugar in the serum, generally referred to as glucose. High blood sugar is a symptom that many people have. Many people want to know if drinking black tea can lower blood sugar. Black tea has a certain blood sugar-lowering effect and is good for diabetics. It can lower blood sugar. Of course, you should also pay attention to your diet.

1. Some research results show that black tea is good for diabetics because it can stimulate the secretion of insulin and reduce the peak blood sugar level after meals. Some scholars have also conducted experiments on these. They gave 16 volunteers a solution containing 75 grams of glucose. However, the sugar solution was prepared in four ways: Group 1 was prepared with plain water, Group 2 was prepared with plain water plus caffeine, Group 3 was prepared with black tea water dissolved with 1 gram of tea bag, and Group 4 was prepared with black tea water dissolved with 3 grams of tea bag. Then, their blood sugar and insulin responses were observed within 150 minutes after drinking the sugar water. The results showed that 1 gram of tea bag could make the subjects' blood sugar more stable for 120 minutes, while caffeine did not help at all. This may be due to the large amount of polyphenols in black tea.

2. Black tea is good for diabetics because it can stimulate the secretion of insulin and reduce the peak blood sugar level after meals. Drinking black tea can stimulate the secretion of insulin, thereby reducing the peak blood sugar level after a meal. This is because tea polysaccharides in many types of tea have a significant blood sugar lowering effect; tea polyphenols can stabilize blood sugar levels and tea polyphenols have an inhibitory effect on amylase.

3. People with high blood sugar should pay attention that tea contains hypoglycemic substances and rich vitamins, which are very beneficial for diabetics. However, do not drink tea before going to bed, the tea should not be too strong, the water temperature for brewing tea should not be too high, etc.
