What causes cloudy eyes

Many people don’t know what causes cloudy eyes. Generally speaking, cloudy eyes are related to disease and are a physical sign. Targeted treatment can generally be chosen for the problem of eye opacity. It is important to note that clinically, eye opacities are divided into many types.

1. The cloudy eyeball is considered to be vitreous opacity, which refers to the vitreous body being dusty, filamentous, flocculent, stringy, or cloud-like. It is not an independent eye disease, but one of the common clinical signs of ophthalmology, which can be caused by a variety of diseases. Generally, anti-inflammatory or hemostatic treatment is first used to treat the cause, and then iodine preparations, hyaluronidase, urokinase or calcium agents are used to promote absorption: physical therapy such as ultrashort waves or ultrasound is used.

2. Under normal circumstances, most of the eyeball is filled with a gelatinous transparent substance called vitreous. Light passes through the cornea and lens, and then through this vitreous body to reach the retina. However, once the vitreous body becomes "turbid" for some reason, when you look at a bright background, this "turbid" shadow will be reflected on the retina and move with the movement of the eyeball, and you will see "floating objects" such as insects or thread ends flying in front of your eyes, which will produce the feeling of floaters.

3. Ocular opacity This vitreous "opacity" and the floaters caused by it have both physiological and pathological reasons. Therefore, ocular opacity is medically called physiological floaters and pathological floaters. Physiological floaters due to ocular opacity can generally be divided into the following three types: congenital physiological floaters; senile physiological floaters; myopic physiological floaters. Based on an ophthalmological examination, once the above three types of floaters are diagnosed, there is no need for treatment.
