Cerebral atherosclerosis is very common in clinical practice. Many factors may cause cerebral atherosclerosis, which are all risk factors for cerebral atherosclerosis. The symptoms of cerebral atherosclerosis also need attention. Early patients may experience neurasthenia. 1. Cerebral atherosclerosis mainly affects large and medium-sized brain arteries with a diameter of more than 500 microns and is closely related to hypertension. Long-term hypertension will inevitably lead to atherosclerotic damage to the walls of the main arteries in the brain. 2. Long-term chronic lack of blood supply to the brain causes brain function impairment. It is mainly a disorder of higher nervous function, manifested by headache, blurred vision, tinnitus, hearing loss, limb numbness, or fatigue and weakness and sleep disorders. In the early stage, the patient mainly suffers from insomnia, has difficulty falling asleep, has shallow sleep and wakes up easily. In the later stage, he or she will suffer from drowsiness. Memory loss, especially recent amnesia, the patient forgets what he has just said and done and cannot remember it. But I can still recall some things that happened a long time ago. 3. Signs: There are various neurological signs of varying degrees, such as hemiplegia, pathological reflexes, palmo-mandibular reflexes, hemisesthesia, asymmetric tendon reflexes, head and hand tremors, etc. Sometimes presents as pseudobulbar palsy or Parkinson's syndrome. Fundus examination may reveal thinning of the retinal arteries, increased reflections, and cross-indentation. 4. Patients often have slow thinking, poor concentration and lazy lifestyle. In the later stages of the disease, long-term memory is also impaired. Due to long-term ischemia and hypoxia of brain tissue, degenerative changes of nerve cells cause brain atrophy and arteriosclerotic dementia may occur. The patient's comprehension and judgment are impaired, and he lacks the ability to make comprehensive judgments, has difficulty in calculation, is mentally distracted, and has low work efficiency. In severe cases, the patient does not know when he is hungry or full when eating, does not know the way home when going out, has urinary and bowel problems, and cannot take care of himself. Cerebral arteriosclerosis may also cause mental symptoms, such as irritability, terror, depression, hallucinations, illusions or delusions, incoherent speech, which is clinically called cerebral arteriosclerotic psychosis. |
